Nonner's Nachos

Our youngest nephew Connor just turned 5 and he's marvelous.  We wanted to find a great gift idea that would be interactive and provide a fun experience versus picking out another set of Legos.

Whenever Connor comes to our house for a weekend visit we cook.  Specifically, we make French toast.  He knows when he wakes up that it's time for his culinary abilities and promptly lets me know--and remembers the vanilla more than I do as well.  He also cooks at his house and my sister in law loves to cook so I'm excited for them to have more fun with his new gear.

We picked out an apron and chef hat and decorated it slightly to be official for Connor to lead the way for Nonner's Nachos (one of his nicknames) and Quesadilla a la Connor (actual name).  Once we're done cooking, we have the proper material markers so he can decorate more his style and have his apron ready to go for when he's at home and helping Mama cook too.

Love getting creative with gifts and having fun.  Not much beats those two details in my opinion.

How I Holiday Decor

I love some holiday decor.  It's fun to mix and match consistent pieces for it and and exciting to switch out the ones that have their set calendar time.  Like my pumpkins for example.  I have a set of them that are used for spooky purposes first, then for grateful hearts right after. Let the record show exhibits ... A and A.5: Halloween goodness           Turkey Day decor   Also, let the record show further exhibits of love for Halloween decorating: B: Witch, please C: Even the tissues have monsters on them Oh and D:   Roni hates us, Pepper giggles, we take far too many pictures of this.   If you couldn't tell, my favorite time of year to decorate is for Halloween.  #givemeallthegoblins   I'm pumped to further enjoy this holiday season with high levels of gratefulness and plan to focus on love and happiness more than anything.  Happy beginning of the end of year holiday season and decorating to you and yours!   Until we me

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w
