Quote It

#quoteit What words inspire you most when you need a reminder to keep moving along, chasing dreams and goals, working to transform your wild imagination into real life?  For me this is it.  With the simple, direct messaging, I can't help but feel optimism for what the future holds. I'm a motivated person, full of ideas and ambitions, and reading this quote brings me center when I start to wobble from too many thoughts.  Let's be honest, thoughts are great, but doing is better.  And to do, it's good to keep it in perspective. Just keep swimming and do what you love and I think things will play out grand. Until we meet again, M

The Graduate

So yesterday was the first day in 39 days I have missed a post. I have steadily been doing The Daily Tay Instagram Challenge in May, which is halfway done today, and in April I participated in all #30PhotosinBetween with Helene in Between . While I made it my own personal goal to write every as well as post to the Instagram, yesterday took up all my time and excitement and thrill for living life in real life. But man did I take some pictures! Allow me to elaborate... This guy graduated with his degree that he's been focused on for a bit of time. Hunter has worked so tremendously hard to get this accomplishment accomplished, never wavering or hesitating to make it clear as his goal. Pausing his pursuit only for a bit because of work commitments a few years ago, Hunter jumped back in full spirited to get it done. Working full time, maintaining friendships and relationships, and lord knows doing whatever I asked of him these last few years, Hunter balanced each commitment...

TGIF

Fri-YAY! That good looking alley cat with the beard above is graduating the University of Central Florida tomorrow! We couldn't be more excited!!!!! We started the celebrations tonight at an Orlando City soccer game. The game was fast, fun, and full of anticipation with every hit on the head. Goallllllllll! I will be back to talk about tomorrow's momentous occasion, but let me just say that I could not be more proud of Hunter's tenacious and persevering spirit. His hard work and strong ability for balancing many plates in the air has served him well. It all brings him to tomorrow at 2pm, when he makes his way across the stage at his ceremony. A to the men. Until we meet again, M

A quick reminder for 2015

Love this. What a perfect mantra. Happy 2015! Until we meet again, M

Every no you get in the business gets you that much closer to a yes -Tom Boyd

Some thoughts today, my friends: I just spoke to someone about their ambitions and passion for their craft of videography. In short, it was empowering, inspiring, and completely mesmerizing to hear of the struggles and successes this person has equally experienced. It got me thinking of my love of writing. Everyone has their stories like this yes, but I feel especially for creative industries, you come to appreciate the fight to stay at it every day. You evolve and improve, you stay the same and regress, but you keep.at.it. I have been writing professionally since I was 10 years old. I wrote for my elementary school newspaper and my mom still displays my article from the local town paper. Well, the paper ran through all of the Treasure Coast, but I don't want to brag ;) I've also pursued writing academically for both undergrad and grad degrees and managed to study all variations of it: technical, creative, professional, news reporting. The commitment is real, y...

"I strongly believe if you work hard whatever you want, it will come to you. I know that's easier said than done, but keep trying"-Beyonce

I think it's safe to say at this point we all know who Beyonce is and that she does in fact rule the world. Need further prove from anything else you may know as evidence of this? Allow me to share an observation... Whilst walking for some fresh air and cardio Sunday morning, I found myself jamming to the Beyonce station on Pandora, a first in a long time I will add. Now, with other stations powered by a specific artist, one will find other artists taking up residence on that channel as well. Not in this example. While I admit I did skip a few of Bey's songs, sorry girl, only once did an Alicia Keys song play and once it was Destiny's Child (It was Bugaboo for the record and yes, it was as fabulous as I remember. I also need to remember to dig out my pager from storage). Anyhow, all other songs, whether prompted by skipping or what came next, was Beyonce every.single.time. There we have it; further proof Beyonce is queen of all the lands. Let me be clear, I am t...

There is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.

Man, I am wrapping up my capstone project for grad school this week and I am feeling the stress. Everything we have built over the span of six months comes to this. We did the soft launch already, which wasn't for widespread public distribution, now we go live this Sunday with what you will be sharing and hyping and showcasing and my head is spinning. Exhale. I'm okay, this has been happening quite a bit lately. I wig out, simmer, and maintain. Then repeat. I keep telling myself it's almost over. I am already missing grad school and wondering what I will possibly resume my time with that isn't for school purposes. Maybe I'll freelance more. Maybe pursue a business venture I've had twirling around my mind. What about dance lessons? Playing tennis? How about finally organizing my purse collection and making some steel toed decisions about new homes for them? I know, I'm talking crazy here but I just feel I am going to be so much more organized an...
