Last Day of Blogtober 14: Halloween Costume Reveal

I'm here, I'm here! I wouldn't make it all the way to the last day of Blogtober 2014 and NOT post. It just worked out that I waited for the day to progress to have pics taken of myself in costume with some of my boos. Without further suspense, we were................... MEAN GIRLS!!!!!!!! Y'all, we had so much fun planning and coordinating different details for this effort. It was a blast to run around all day yelling out different quotes from the movie and then take part in our company's costume contest. Since we work at a really cool place that is centered on creativity, entertainment media, and the arts, Halloween is always a big deal. There were so many amazing costumes and decorations! I'm sad it's over! Now the countdown begins for next year... I hope everyone has enjoyed themselves too, whether it's with candy and movies, or out and about frolicking. Happy Halloween!!!!! Until we meet again, M

Blogotber Day 30- The Facts of Megan

I can't believe Blogtober 2014 is a day from being over. This is like a race that is so close to being done, and you can see the finish line, and you feel this surge of exhilaration and an "I made it!" attitude, while also feeling slightly saddened because it's done. At least, this is what I imagine people who run races feel like. Anyhow, today we are talking about some facts about me: -My middle name is Keely and I always get asked if its misspelled on documents and should be Kelly. As if I would misspell my own name on 14 documents back to back... -I would not live in a cold climate. Snow, below zero, no thank you. -I have not yet felt California sunshine or Colorado snow. -But I have had gumbo in New Orleans and a cannoli in little Italy. -My favorite movie of all time is Dirty Dancing. -Glitter is my favorite color. -I don't have a single bottle of perfume in my collection of beauty products. -I live for picking out my new daily planner e

My Most Embarrassing Moment -Blogtober Day 29

So here's the thing. I can tell you that I always have found being sung happy birthday to, to be equally mortifying and embarrassing and I don't care for it. I love and appreciate the kindness it offers, but I am so uncomfortable when I'm the one with my name in that third verse. On that note, just this year I went to lunch with some of mine and Hunter's family to celebrate the birthing of me, at a nice Italian restaurant. Towards the end of the deliciousness, my father dearest sneakily requested I be sung the ol'happy anthem. Well, when he was told they didn't do that at this restaurant, he made enough of a fuss because next thing I know, our waiter comes out on the patio in front of God and everyone else enjoying their bruscetta, and starts belting out his best happy birthday song in a booming loud opera voice. He made eye contact with me the entire time, even standing in a pose with his hands cupping each other, while staring directly through my soul.

My Superstitions- #Blogtober14 Day 28

Ohhhh creepyyyy! Talking superstitions makes me superstitious, if I'm being honest. I wouldn't say I'm highly obsessed with too much in particular otherwise. -I have to make a wish at 11:11. Like, I will stop talking mid sentence to do so. -Eyelashes also create wishes. What can I say? I'm a wisher and a dreamer boo. -I like Friday the 13ths actually. I'm optimistically superstitious for this one. And that's really it. I think I prefer having less superstitions, in all honesty. Pepper now, she clearly has a superstition about black cats. We're working through her anxiety though. What are you superstitious about? Until we meet again, M

Blogtober Dayyyy 27! A Letter To Your Younger Self

First of all, this is my 203rd post! I slid right on by the day I hit 200, probably in a haze from writing so many days consistently like this. So I am now thrilled to announce I am moving right along and haven't tapped out. For that I have Blogtober 2014 to give credit to. I am so so so determined to meet my goal of writing all 31 days. Thank you again for linking this up Helene and Taylor !! Now, on to today's topic: A Letter To Your Younger Self Dear 22-27 year old Meggie, Hey, it's me, 29 year old you. Just wanted to check in and cover a couple things that I've learned to be true, so if you want to go ahead and use this insight sooner, have at it. So a few things still stand that I've mentioned to 17 year old you and as I recounted the ten things I've learned since high school . Please keep drinking water over anything else and avoid the hair bleach. But you know, being 29 and thinking back, the ages 22-27 were a huge chapter of your life a

Blogtober Day 26, Who would play you in a movie...

Ohhh good one, Blogtober. Someone once told me I reminded them of Drew Barrymore. They didn't say if it was for look or personality, so I'm not sure where they drew the conclusion from. See what I did there? I threw this out to one of my very best and oldest friends Andrea. Talking it out, we agreed that Drew and I do share some similar qualities, both in personality and in dressing and accessorizing. Andrea reasoned that Drew is quirky and a little less traditional, much like me. I reasoned we have the same headbands: via I also recalled that when I was a little girl, everyone thought I looked like a young Drew Barrymore. Both my parents have said people would come up to them all the time and remark on my resemblance to her in that movie Firestarter : via via Whatever it is, I would absolutely be pleased if Drew played me in a movie. Now, if Penelope Garcia was a real person and not a character on a TV show (Criminal Minds), she would undoubtedly play m

Blogtober Day 25, Favorite Book

This blog post topic has me stumped. I cannot name one favorite book! I love many stories; autobiographical, fiction, educational, the comics, you name it. Maybe I am having a tough time now to name a set favorite because I haven't read one that was riveting. I was just talking to a good friend about how we used to read more than we do lately and I hope to come back to this question again with a more solidified answer. At any given time, my coffee table hosts current reads such as... I will say funny beats all. I love to read really funny books like Chelsea above there. You just can't go wrong. Tell me allll about your favorite reads please. Until we meet again, M

Blogtober day 24, One Beauty Product You Can't Live Without

Hands down, lip lip stuff. I've been wearing lipstick since I was approximately age three and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. Its the final step when applying my makeup and my favorite because it completes a look. I mix shades and kinds and styles all the time and the picture above shows what's in my makeup bag any given day. My name is Megan and I cannot live without an array of lipsticks. Hiii Megan. Oh and TGIF y'all! Until we meet agsin, M

Blogtober Day 23, Favorite Instagram Editing App

Well this is awkward. I don't use any editing apps for Instagram ! Ahhhhh, bad blogger!! I love Insta and constantly use it, scroll it, and repeat this cycle all the time. As far as any assistance in editing the images I display, I like to use the preset filtering options and that's about it folks. Like this beauty right here: One amazing moment + a Valencia filter = perfection! As for an app I've been meaning to get my paws on though, I want to find one that makes collages of pictures. So that will be my goal since I failed at having an existing app I like to use. I shall set forth to acquire my first one! Please save me from the despair of this any further and tell me, what are your favorites? Until we meet again, M

Blogtober Day 22, My pet peeves...

Things that cause me to make faces such as this, aka pet peeves: -the use of the "R" word in a casual reference, to identify something as "stupid", or just overall. This is probably my biggest pet peeve in life because that word carries a lot of weight and hate. There are a million better choices to use in every example. I assure you. -toilet paper rolls left as the empty cardboard -when my beautiful angel cake baby girl dogters, the little one in particular, jump up on the couch with snacks after I just vacuumed it -loud assholes in a room who don't let others contribute an opinion -when something goes awry with the DVR. I 100% KNOW I set it to record. #firstworldproblems -finding an ideal dress, shirt, or skirt in a store and there's a tear, a stain, or something you just wouldn't be able to fix. And it's on sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -cruelness to the elderly and animals. This is an area of no restraint for me, I will lose it if

Blogtober 14, Day 21! My dream vacation...

Oh yes yes yes. Let's talk dream vacation. For me, I'm a simple gal with a want for a breeze, some crystal clear water, a little sunshine, and breathtaking views for good measure. In all honesty, staying stateside will work just fine. I'm thinking Hawaii would be justtttt perfect. To start this will be a 10 day vacation. Every morning, I would post up on a gorgeous deck and meditate. Chamomile tea will be fabulous, thank you. As the day moves on, I shall move to my daily massage location, which no doubt will overlook said amazing views previously mentioned. Then to the spa for facials, steam room, maybe some yoga, because one can't be on such a vacay without the proper medley of spa love. After that, I'll have lunch outdoors, also while taking in my scenery. Lunch shall feature the freshest catch the chefs can come up with, full of wow and flavor, and obvi mimosas and margs will be flowing. As the afternoon rolls in, I would check out some local haun

Blogtober Day 20 My Biggest Fear...

We are now 2/3 done with Blogtober's challenge of writing for 31 days. I know, hard to believe, isn't it? I'm enjoying my routine of reading the topic, writing my thoughts, and seeing what so many others are saying too. In short, this is funnnnnnn! Now for today's big question...My biggest fear would be: Torture. Well, kidnapping and torture. This scares the world out of me. I watch too many TV shows that exhibit the kinds of stuff bad/crazy/strange people think is okay to do to others and it freaks.me.out. Yet, I watch. I swear, I close my eyes through all of the gore or badness. I've got an imagination, people. A good one. I don't need to really see it. I guess I watch because I love the story lines that override the ick and the people who make up the teams who capture the bad guys. So, yea, I'll keep this one short. No need to ignite nightmares by elaborating, amiright? But here is a super cool, lightened up way to talk serial killers:

What makes me happy...Blogtober Day 19

What a timely topic to write about, seeing as its Sunday, and I LOVE Sundays! They make me very happy. Lots of things make me happy though. I am so thankful to say that! So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M
