Pepper Ann Roberts

Last Wednesday we said “see you again” to our sweet, brilliant, beautiful dogter Pepper. We’re hurting and immensely sad but we are grateful for the 14+ years she gave us.   When Hunter chose her from her litter, it was a bit of a Marley and Me situation; he said “I’ll take the quiet, easy going one in the corner with the white on her tippy toes”. It was quickly discovered the true PEP in her step and the amazing and often rambunctious character she possessed. Pepper has been the absolute ideal blend of loyal and spunky while full of mischief and comfort. She has stolen many a sandwiches and ate far too many socks with little to no remorse. To even out her chaos, she cemented herself as a fierce protector and the sincerest friend one could ever hope for. Truly, there isn’t a person in our household who Pepper wasn’t the best friend of. Pepper Ann Roberts, the greatest good bad dog there ever was. We love you and will continue to adore you and celebr...

Now and then

So I'll be back a different day when I don't have a ridiculous amount of sinus pressure plaguing me but couldn't wait to pop in to share a fantastic throwback sent to me:   Oh and to share a much more recent shot of those two youngins above: mkhr

Wedding Wednesday

I mentioned coming back with #VeryMarriedMunterhegans' updates and here I am!  We've got quite a bit accomplished and quite a bit to go.  The good news is the things needing completion can't in fact be completed until much closer to go time.  As much as I would love to house live flowers already for the grand occasion, they simply wouldn't survive even the greatest green thumb until October. So far we have: our date, venue, menu, my dress and one piece of decor.  Oh and we have invites done and out.  I will say our music playlist is all but done, just needing Munter to sit down with Hegan and extend approval of said jams.  Boomshakalaka. We still need: decor, Hunter's outfit, my accessories, our wedding bands, and to finalize where we will stay.  We are interested in doing an Air B& B and looking for the best option actively.  It's in my hometown which is beautiful and beachside so we shall see where we land. We're incredibly easy going ...

10 years!

August 24th is 10 years Hunter and I have been together.   What? How? When? We did?   It's like omg, what a ride!   My heart is full, my mind is spinning, and I think often why he's my person.   The simplest I can think of is how he makes me laugh.   And smile.   And excited to tell him things all day long.   It doesn't hurt that he's physically good looking and his inside heart is even more charming.   It's also comforting how he's a provider and a protector.   He's smart and kind and he has values and integrity.   He's a lover and fighter for goodness and he gives strong, quality hugs.   All this to say, I am even more smitten than I was 10 years ago with him and that I know is special. Don't get me wrong, no one is saying all day everyday is peaches and cream.   Lord does he make me madder than a hatter on a hot Florida July day!   He can be stubborn and set out for such perfection at times and he just won't let...

Weekending Recap

Today has been one of those magical days. It has consisted of: -not waking up to an alarm clock, -lounging in bed with my boo visiting far and near lands via Periscope -a thorough meal planning/efficient grocery store trip -a brisk 2 mile walk -talking to one of my best girlfrans and catching up  -doing some Social Cap client work -being here at le blog -baking scrumptious cinnamon streusel muffins  -a nap momentarily ---and the Oscars are on tonight!!!!!! See?  Scrump.ticious This. This all is my happy place.  My heart is full. The Orlando City preseason game last night has also contributed to today being stellar.  It was the perfect start to what is sure to be an amazing season with a 6-1 win! This is what weekending is all about.  A chance to just be and enjoy and take in all the greatness we can. Let's meet again, M

8-1/2 Years!

Left: February 2008/ Right: March 2015 I interrupt a preset blog post already posted for today to talk a little more. I happened to look at the date and said well I'll be!  Today is 8-1/2 years since that good looking fellow in the photo above and I set out together.  My God, where does time go?  Have we really been together just shy of a decade?  I was not math major, but my instinct says yes. I'm pleased to report I love Hunter more today than yesterday and more than 2-1/2, 4-1/2, 6-1/2 and all the years in between together.  I take that as a win.  I love him more and want to choke him less every passing day.  Actually, some days that isn't entirely true but tomato/tomahtoe.  The point is I am grateful we both put in the work relationships take and I'm thankful it doesn't feel like work. Hunter is my person no doubt.  I knew something was special about him the first time I met him.  He instantly caught my eye in a musky room...

When a Man Loves a Mouse

Once upon a time two weeks ago, I was minding my own business, when the seductress of my dreams sent me an email.  Yes, that's right; my dreammaker known as Kate Spade, emails me weekly.  It's kind of our thing, she emails me stylish and fabulous things, and I drool and suck the air out of the room gasping with delight at alll the pretty things. This particular email, with a subject of Into the Wild, made mention of new goodies on her website.  I said to myself, "Don't even look.  You're not in the market.  You have enough leopard.  You don't care for zebra.  Maybe just a peek to assure yourself."  By the way, welcome to my inner thought process. As soon as I clicked, my heart stopped, my jaw dropped, my good intentions went out the window.  There, in all her glory, as part of the Cat's Meow Collection , was a MOUSE satchel!!!!!! Quick back story: My grandpa has called me Megan Mouse my entire life.  He does a happy squ...

We went to Chicago and all we got were amazing memories!

Back in February, I decided I wanted to surprise Hunter with a vacation to explore a new spot.  With both his 30th birthday and college graduation impending, I knew I wanted it to be a marvelous location fit for a really good, hard working man. After researching, I felt Chicago would be a good spot based on the fact neither of us had ever been, the food pics through all of social media are continuously salvation central, and the art scene potential for my man was too good, as Hunter enjoys art quite a bit.  This ended up paying off incredibly well, more to come in pics below. In short, Chicago did not disappoint.  Not one bit.  Culture, beautiful sights, tremendous food opportunities, and we managed to explore 40 miles, walking alone, in 3-1/2 days.  In no particular order, my favorite parts were: -the Skydeck experience - Carmine's - Over Easy Cafe in Ravenswood -Staying at the Kimpton Allegro  -Walking everywhere, taking in all the sights, ther...
