Peach Preserve Croissants Y'all

We visited a Bass Pro Shop last weekend and I just couldn't help myself but to snag some peach preserves. What can I say, I'm ready for some summertime peaches I suppose. I had no plans in mind for what I wanted to use it for, but knew I wanted to create something good. So as I got to thinking (there I go again), I decided to grab a few essential ingredients to anything tasty: And the grand finale... So simple, so yum! What type of preserves are your go-to? Until we meet again, M

The Grand Central Band @ Toby Keith's I Love This Bar

Happy Monday! No need to dwell, we all despise most Mondays, with the exception of Labor Day and Memorial day. Best to get on with it I suppose... On Saturday night, Hunter and I went to watch a friend's cousin's band play at Toby Keith's new restaurant and bar , known as "I Love This Bar" due to Toby's hit song with a title of the same name. Y'all! (and PS I cannot even begin to think of a better time to use this phrase) This place is super cool. Excellent open concept and layout, yummy/quality food, and an overall ambiance that promotes a honky tonkin good time. The band is The Grand Central and they were on point. They did great covers of old and new songs and had everyone hopping around both on foot and bouncing in their chairs to the sounds. Hunter took an awesome shot of them in all their glory: We got to the place a little earlier than when the show was starting, so we grabbed a booth and munched on some goodies. The second pict

Sweet Teeth Desserts!

Happy, happy Thursday my friends! May the week get on with it, and may you find yourself to Friday happy hour soon... Allow me to introduce a little adventure two of my very good lovies and I have launched recently: Tada! We started a dessert baking business! And it is so much fun already! So here's the back story: Lizette, Danielle, and I have enjoyed each others company and baked goods for many years now. We work together at our day jobs and after much discussion and excitement, we decided that 2015 was the year of sweet goodies with our label on them! Our baby is very new to this world and already oh so loved. We are passionate and pumped up to watch it grow. I also am incredibly grateful for this venture, and most importantly, for the two girls I get the privilege to call partners. Life is just too sweet sometimes. I will share more updates and cool stories that stem from this opportunity along the way, so in the meantime, head on over to our fresh new inte

Some chili for my chili

Hunter said during last week's FL cold front, that he really just loves chili. So when I awoke this past Sunday feeling a bit of chill in the air, I headed to the store with intentions to spoil my boo with a homemade version. Thank God for good directions and turnip greens because the recipe I found through All Recipes site was too.too.too. good! So easy and quite delicious. The only differences in what the original recipe called for versus what I made was that I used some canned mild chilies and no cumin, and I added corn. This might just be my best idea yet in 2015. The instructions were straight forward and provided me an easy way to look like an actual chef. Shut up! I love when that happens!! Behold! The final product: With a sprinkle of some cornbread crumbles (total last minute idea; some of my muffins stuck, how rude!) and an actual jiffy cornbread muffin, it was a lovely meal. And it provides a hearty amount for leftovers, which in turn lets me play Groun

Olive You-A Review

For Christmas, Hunter's mom Sharon, or Shanizzle as I prefer to call her, and dad Randy (see also: Randizzle), gifted us this fab-fab-fabulous olive oil and herbs set. Girl. Let me tell you: it is worth indulging in something like this to gift to someone else or to your own household. This stuff is rich and robust, which to be honest, are not two adjectives in my usual rotation of vocabulary. It leaves a seriously savory impact on your palette. Ours is from The Olive Pantry in Lake Mary and I already have it jotted down in my planner to pick a time we can go and try out some more. We've used both the herbs and oil for sauteing vegetables, bruscetta, eggs, and even in chili. Obviously, I find that the flavors compliment a million dishes, and I really can't say that about every olive oil I've ever tried. I suggest for my local Orlando/Lake Mary friends that you pick some up. If you're not local, check this here , and order it! Until we meet again, M
