I love the person I've become because I've fought hard to become her

Weeeeeeee! It'sss Fridayyyyyyyyyyy. Thank the accessory gods this day arrived. Who doesn't love a Friday, hmmm? As soon as I read the quote that is the title of this post, it brought the biggest smile to my face. It was one of those a-ha moments, one that brought a bout of reflection. Every thing I have, every achievement I've earned, every screw up I've caused as a self-sufficient "adult"; I did it . I moved from my mom's home at 20 years old and did not have much of a game plan other than I was going. I had never even driven on a highway! There I was, shaking, as each semi flew past my wittle Camry that was packed to the brim with all my jewelry life belongings at lightening speed. There were good times and rocky moments that had me question my decision early on. Was I too hasty? Was I going to crawl back home defeated? What was my major even going to be??? Umm, and how exactly does one survive on $25 a shift serving??? I learned quic

You are a beautiful cupcake in a world full of muffins

I think it's good to remind ourselves every once in a while that weird is good. Scratch that it's great. It's easy to fall under spells of what's considered "normal" and let others trick us into thinking what sets us different makes us off, losers, whackos, fill in the _____. Normal smormal bore-mal. What is this mythical normal you speak of and what on earth does it have to do with me? It makes me sickly-sad to keep hearing that bullying is still a thing. Stop trying to make bullying happen! It isn't going to happen win! (Always good to throw a Mean Girls reference in when harping on the disgusting act of bullying). In honor of letting our "freak flags" fly, I'd like to point out some things that are key to my weirdness aka my loveliness just the same: 1. The term RAT is our house is a term of endearment. Bubsy rat(Hunty or me), fat rat(Peppy)(PS This is not a negative spin with the use of the word fat. Peppy is my squish and

April showers bring lists of happy thoughts

I haven't posted yet this month and feel inclined to do something happy since the city of Orlando is currently experiencing an 85% chance of angel sweat. Yes, I said sweat; tears are too sad a comparison and angels work hard day and night so why wouldn't they be glistening heavily? Erin from Two Thirds Hazel comes up with really exciting link ups and one from last week as resonated with me tremendously so without further explanation I'd like to take part and present my own list of 32 Things That Make Me Happy . Ah-hem: 1. Hunter. May seem obvious, may make you gag, but I love him to the moon and back and he is by far one of the happiest parts of my life all day, every day. Even when he leaves his clothes outside of the hamper 2.5 times a day. 2. Glitter. It's my favorite color. Gold, silver, rainbow, shades of pink, the long kind, the dot kind. It's all good. 3. Cupcakes, cake pops, and coconut macaroons. Any time there is the option, there is no op
