Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T.

While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”.

Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration:

Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better.

Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See what I did there??




Meditate: You don’t have to get to some spiritual den with incense or roll out a mat to sit cross legged on in order to get hold of your mind and thoughts to reset. Take a few deep breaths and allow yourself to keep focus and feel what’s around you. Be present and breathe from your car or your couch.  Even just ten minutes works wonders.

Clean it up: Your diet, that is.  It's so true; if you eat like shit, you will most definitely feel like shit.  End of story, no way around it.  Prepare real food, with straight forward ingredients that are pronounceable with no confusion as to what the hell it is you are putting in your body.  I assure you if you do this for a few days, you will feel far better and help yourself have a necessary self care reset.










These are nothing monumental or new ideas but they work and they help me realign with my self as I need. Life isn’t meant to be complicated or heavy on disparity so I say give some simple tips a try when you need it next.

Today is a good day, my friends. Today means at the 6 o'clock hour I shall enter a four day weekend. Full of what, you ask? So far on the agenda is:

-trying out a very new and deliciously enticing restaurant known as Cooper's Hawk and Winery;
-finishing the rest of season 5 and all of season 6 for Sons of Anarchy-which is phenom BTW;
-and enjoying the beautiful weather we are projected to experience, with extra SPF of course.

I like to call this agenda a little something known as living the American dream indeed.

Oh and I'll be toting around my newly obtained Kate Spades. Surprise 75% off sale, what? I CANNOT wait for the tote! I'll give you a hint until I can show the new ol'gal off #baconeggandcheeseplease :):)

I know. This is days after the initial blow of learning that this wonderful human being's life ended. What in the world. Talk about a cherished existence. The man my parents still rave about because of his stand up comedy, the man who forever changed the way I say "Hellloooooo" in an older British woman's voice, this great giant. How sad. I feel for the fact that Robin hit a level from which he could not rise. Depression, anxiety, stress are awful beasts.

I do not believe in the mentality, that someone who takes their life is selfish. Sure, it's not the kindest thing to leave behind for loved ones to cope with, but if something has it's grasp on a person, well, choices are made. It is devastating that there is still so much stigma for diseases like depression and anxiety. What?! Get the hell out of here with that mess. I would not wish it upon the biggest naysayer even to prove a point. So, to that, I say screw the assholes saying derogatory …
