Brunch so hard

We celebrated one of my favorite humans over the weekend.  My good friend Danielle turned 30 and we turned up, as the kids would say.  Actually, we went to brunch and indulged in a buffet style setup complete with endless mimosas.  Let's suffice to say, not my best idea.  While I enjoyed the company, the food, and yes in the moment the drinks, I certainly learned how different my body reacts to this type of...let's say treatment Lol.  It's true what I read once; the only cure for a hangover is being under the age of 25.  Preach! Would I do it again?  Absolutely.  Will I indulge and celebrate?  Always.  Life is too good to not be enjoyed.  Oh look, me before storm:

10 years!

August 24th is 10 years Hunter and I have been together.   What? How? When? We did?   It's like omg, what a ride!   My heart is full, my mind is spinning, and I think often why he's my person.   The simplest I can think of is how he makes me laugh.   And smile.   And excited to tell him things all day long.   It doesn't hurt that he's physically good looking and his inside heart is even more charming.   It's also comforting how he's a provider and a protector.   He's smart and kind and he has values and integrity.   He's a lover and fighter for goodness and he gives strong, quality hugs.   All this to say, I am even more smitten than I was 10 years ago with him and that I know is special. Don't get me wrong, no one is saying all day everyday is peaches and cream.   Lord does he make me madder than a hatter on a hot Florida July day!   He can be stubborn and set out for such perfection at times and he just won't let...

Nonner's Nachos

Our youngest nephew Connor just turned 5 and he's marvelous.   We wanted to find a great gift idea that would be interactive and provide a fun experience versus picking out another set of Legos. Whenever Connor comes to our house for a weekend visit we cook.   Specifically, we make French toast.   He knows when he wakes up that it's time for his culinary abilities and promptly lets me know--and remembers the vanilla more than I do as well.   He also cooks at his house and my sister in law loves to cook so I'm excited for them to have more fun with his new gear. We picked out an apron and chef hat and decorated it slightly to be official for Connor to lead the way for Nonner's Nachos (one of his nicknames) and Quesadilla a la Connor (actual name).   Once we're done cooking, we have the proper material markers so he can decorate more his style and have his apron ready to go for when he's at home and helping Mama cook too. Love getting creati...

Sasha the Fabulous Reindeer

Over the past weekend we attended a cookie decorating party our friends hosted.   It was so much fun!   We began our extravaganza with a homemade breakfast casserole, croissants, and mimosas.   Aka, what Sundays are intended to be accompanied by. We had sugar cookies in every type of sleigh, bell, and Reindeer shape unavailable, chocolate chip, red velvet kiss cookies, grinch rise crispy treats, and homemade fudge.   Anddddd just like that I need another glass of water to counteract my sugar consumption today. This is the stuff holidays are made of.   We laughed, we hugged extra tightly with big "Merry Christmas!" wishes, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation was on repeat.  #HeavenOnEarth   How are your holiday get togethers going this far?

#Brunching

As we close out such an amazing weekend (Who am I kidding, ALL weekends are amazing by default), I am so extra grateful for the people in my life, the memories made, and the celebrations for goals and of moms. And for brunch. Brunch is always a good idea and time. Happy happy happy Sunday and Mother's Day! Until we meet again, M

Project Surprise Engagement Dinner-Check!

For the past 2-ish months, my good friend Jenny and I have been behind the orchestration of a surprise engagement dinner for our good friend Lizette. We all have worked together the last 4-ish years and have grown to be such good friends. In my humble opinion, Lizette has got the most amazingly sharp wit in all of Orlando, and Jenny has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met. These girls mean the world to me and I had the most fun ever with Jenny gallivanting to plan and secure the secret of this dinner party for Lizette. We invited her nearest and dearest family and friends and everyone did a great job keeping the surprise element of the plans. Once we all made it to the actual dinner, we got good laughs at the numerous ways 10 people almost dropped the ball when talking to Lizette at different times the last few weeks. We chose the location of Cooper's Hawk and Winery , which if I'm being honest, I'm getting closer and closer to being the joint's ambass...

5 Things I love about 4th of July

With the 4th at the end of this week, I thought I'd draft my personal top 5 favorites about the ol'red, white & blue celebration. Shall we? 1. I'm going to get right to specifics here and say freedom. While I do feel there are many freedoms still needing some follow through , this country is a great, great land. I'm thankful, proud, and happy to represent this land. 2. Hot dogs, lemonade and festive desserts ! These are staples in our house for the holiday. Throw in a bur-gah, oy! Delighted is an understatement. 3. A break from the day to day; I have a few days off and I am more than thrilled to spend time with the dogters, sleep in, get outdoors for walks and maybe some tennis (total fave sport to play), and really just pretend I work from home and get all kinds of fun things done. 4. The fashion. I adore it whether its: -how people dress their kids/animals in their most festive attire -various magazine layouts -or seeing different street styles. ...

Yumlicious Adventures

We enjoyed some awesome bruschetta recently at Pannullo's . Light but with a full bite of flavor= what more could we ask for, people? So, I have a theory. For Hunter's birthday lunch, he ordered a bruschetta burger and I went with chicken Marsala. Halfway in, I had an epiphany that my Poppy sent Hunter his birthday wishes through these choices. But why crazy pants meg mouse? My Poppa and Nana ran a very successful Italian American restaurant for 35 years in my hometown. See? The burger is essentially one of the biggest representations of classic Americana cuisine, while mine hits the other nail on the head. I felt this was Pop speaking right at us. Or I'm nuts. We definitely strolled outside for far too long. Lawd, is the heat the worst it's ever been in the history of ever, or what Florida? I know we Floridians all say that every year, but it is as hot as the devils living room. Naturally Hunter and I kept hydrated. With dairy. From the milk put towar...

Some believe in destiny, some believe in fate; I believe happiness is something we create

Well, weekend you did not disappoint. I had so much fun I decided to do my weekend recap post on Wednesday. Fancy me that! On Saturday, a friend of mine was surprised for her birthday brunch (with mimosas naturally) making it a glorious success: Happy birthday Cassandra! So then, Ronda and I says, hey it's Saturday. Let's hit up the good ol'ale House to grab a few bevs with my Hunty. We had a good time y'all! Then I needed a little nappy and some Advil. I woke up in the late evening to enjoy some random movies a la television by the likes of Grandma's Boy, She's All That, and then some House Hunters. What can I say? I didn't choose the thug life, it simply chose me. No, I don't think I got that right exactly... Sunday presented homework and work so ehh, but then! The Grammys were on!!! Weeeee they were so good! The fashion, the laughs, the music!! Personally my overall favorites of the night were Imagine Dragons and K...

“Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door.”—Kyle Chandler

This quote is everything. Nothing compares to a hard earned accomplishment; one where you pave your own path, build up the terrain about said path, and then maintain it. I am on a high from graduating soon yes, and open to the possibilities of what's to come. Optimism is my best friend and I cannot wait to knock heartily on some doors. The hardest part to most anything is the beginning. Working out, starting a new job, a business, it's all difficult initially. But really, once the first door is opened, it's easier from there. I have so many ambitions and things I want to add to my list of doors knocked down. Out of everything learned this past year from school, I am most thankful to have learned that possibilities are endless and it really is a world where you can do anything you want, as long as you put the time in for it. Simple as that. So, in effort to keep me accountable on some goals, I am enlisting the ol'blog world's help. Here, in no particular ...

I really need a day between Saturday and Sunday

What a weekend. I feel so fortunate while exhausted and rejuvenated at the same time. I freaking love weekends. This weekend was a mix of work and play. Homework had to be done by both Hunty and I but we still managed time for a lunch out for a fresh fish sandwich for me an a buffalo chicken for him. Plus margaritas, which were on special Saturday. This and the fact I got my homework done early made me a very happy lady. This is only the third time in the last 12 months homework got done early BTW. 2 weeks to go folks. 2 weeks... Let's see. Oh yea, I also binged on Teen Mom 2 repeats, watched The Help, and read through my Christmas gift from my aunt Janine. And the newest People Style Watch. This is what my dreams are made of. Sunday I attended a work event and then ventured off to Monkey Joe's to watch our handsome nephew Connor explore and celebrate him turning 2. He's a beautiful creature and quite possibly stole my heart yet again with ...
