Maaaaaybe

It's starting.   My anxiety is at peak.   Maybe the new season, which leads us into the end of the year chaos which I love, yet initially I feel slight panic.   It passes but I've noticed the last few years this happens. Maybe because we're getting married in a week and while we're so excited and we're prepared, mentally and logistically, it's less than a week!   So much done!   So much to do!   We're getting married!   Eek! Maybe because Pepper is winding down.   She's still okay; she's eating and not in blatant discomfort.   But she's a 14 year old lab with muscular atrophy and a couple bumps we need to get checked out.   Her spirit is strong and present but she's also tired and more feeble.   We're seesawing a terribly difficult situation and trying to navigate as thoughtfully as we can.   I think our hope and prayer is to get through the wedding and hopefully the holidays before thinking further. Maybe becaus...

Weekend Wonders

A few things as of late: -Wedding invites arrived, were completed, and have been sent to new homes.  So excited with the design, the printing, and the added decor we did for the envelopes.  Invites are exciting because they set the tone for what's to come.  We are hosting an elaborate dinner party with an ambiance of glitz and fun and we're very pleased that our invites convey that.  One huge check off the ol'list! -insert heart eye emoji here- -Pepper turned 14 a few weeks ago.  She's good, slow moving but good.  She's still fun spirited and eager which we are grateful for daily.  I've thought so much extra lately how much she means to me and how she's literally my friend.  She listens to me in good moods, bad moods, she knows when I need a hug, she's protective.  She's the epitome of a damn good dog friend. -Best night ever: went on a brisk extended walk, made a lovely, healthy dinner, did final edits on a project, made time for t...

Another 3 Things

3 Things are my favorite: I'm loving Panera's cleaned up ingredients for their menu options.   I tried the Chipotle Melt and it was quite yummy.   I got chips with it and it was, as always, delicious.   Hunter's Italian was very tasty as well. We did Christmas Bingo with Hunter's family and it was so much fun!   We had two piles- one for kid items and one for the grown ups.   We grabbed a mix of things like gift cards, adult coloring books, and Harry Potter jelly beans for the kids.   Those were so much fun!   Everyone's reactions were fantastic.  Here's just a glimpse of mine when enjoying some delicious dirt and sausage jelly beans: I am making this.   I'll hold while you salivate momentarily... Image Via I'm most excited for the fact that I recognize every ingredient as items I have in my kitchen right now.   Scratch that, I'll need to get fresh carrots and celery.   I may also tweak it after ...

3 Things

I love this 3 Things series I've factored in to my repertoire.  You know, for those moments when you feel like writing but don't necessarily have a set topic. 1. I am obsessed with this song: Ob.sessed.  Just ask poor Hunter, Lol.  It's not brand new at all but it's just so precious.  It's a feel good anthem to just hop around to.  I think it's a safe assumption we could all use a bit more of the feel good hopping right now, no? 2. I initially wrote out some thoughts on Kim K releasing the Taylor Swift recording.  My thoughts are still developing though.  This type of situation piques my interest because I am a fan of Pop Culture and always studying artistic integrity.  Yes, I do see this as partly based on the latter.  I'm going to read up on this developing scenario and craft my opinion with time.  That's something as media professionals we all could stand to honor a bit more I think. 3. I'm a long time Essie nail polish gal....

3 Things

One of my fave blogging segments: 1.) I love the show Blue Bloods .  It's gritty, endearing, quality television series writing.  All of the characters are real and authentic and fleshed out so well.  We Netflix binged this one and are caught up now.  Can't wait for fall and the new season! 2.) We're going to an Elton John tribute show for my moms birthday.  That was our gift to her for her 55th.  He's a very favorite artist of hers and the show has great reviews.  I'm an Elton fan too of course.  I have a cockatoo cocktail ring naked Sir Sparkleton in homage for the amazing Elton. 3.) Have you ever seen Prefontaine ?  It's the story of runner Steve Prefontaine and his inspiring career.  Hunter's high school track coach had his team watch it and it is a movie that's meant a lot to Hunter.  It's on Netflix and it is fantastic.  It only further proves Jared Leto to be one of the most versatile actors in the hist...

3 Things

I really love what is rapidly becoming a segment on ol' Ohgabetta here.  3 Things is a quick way to express any thoughts I've got.  I like expressions and I like thoughts so what a happy coupling.  Or is it happy tripling since its 3 things?  Solid question, Meggie.  Here we go! Broccoli Brown Rice Cashew- My impromptu makeshift lunch the other work day.  I sometimes experience reflux issues and when I do I stop, hammer time, and change it up.  This required a run to Publix to grab non trigger foods, read also: most tasty items.  Brown rice and broccoli help aid the process of settling reflux so with those purchases away I went back to work.  After preparing these two parts, I remembered I had dry roasted organic cashews in my desk drawer.  With a few mixed in, Wa-la.  We had what I will affectionately call Broccoli Brown Rice Cashew.  It was incredibly good and not bland or cardboard-esque which was my fear....

What a week, huh?

Whew, what a what a!  It's good stuff but man, it's Wednesday indeed. 3 Things: 1.  I'm caught up on the Teen Mom catch up sessions with Dr. Drew and I got to say, Amber has come very far.  I respect her for getting her shiz together and being who she is.  Tough to overcome a past and she truly gives each day a valid effort.  It's crazy watching both of the Teen Mom series because the girls have grown up literally in front of the world's eyes.  Good for these ladies for taking a tough situation and moving on with life. 2.  Kate Spade wedges.  I want them alllllll.  The black Dellie with daisies??!!  The ice cream Dotty ?????  You will be mine...   Dellie Via Dotty Via 3.  Roni turned 8!  Our girl's actual day of birth is the 8th, but we've always celebrated on the 13th since we did not know her real birthday for years.  So this year we go with today, the 9th.  This little firecracker ...

3 Things

1.  You know you're an adult when you randomly hop up on a Sunday night saying I'm gonna make a quick frittata!  And you do. Y'all, I didn't even have to look up a recipe, my mind instantly knows what distinguishes a frittata.  It came out delicious BTW-tons of fresh spinach, onion, Parmesan, shredded mozzarella, and 6 eggs =  adulting win. 2.  If I went to the Oscars, I would definitely wear something popping.  It wouldn't be at all predictable or simple.  I would wear bold colors, a unique shape, something that could potentially get me on the worst dressed list.  I kid, I kid, but really, I view this as an opportunity to have elegance yes, but I also say do it big.                          Sha                    ...
