Photo Challenge Day One: A Few of My Favorite Things

Some of you may remember the awesome blogging challenge I participated in for October, known as Blogtober. In short, the challenge was to write every single day of October, even on weekends. There were awesome prompts, like this one and this one, oh and this one too.

I loved this challenge the minute Helene and Taylor unveiled it. I met the goal of writing all 31 day too. On one hand, it was not an easy feat. On the other though, it was a breeze because I love blogging and writing and being pushed to get creative with a prompt. It was such a fun time and I was honestly sad to see it end.

So here we are starting April (which is crazy talk to me) and the fabulous Helene has invited all her virtual friends to jump aboard an Instagram photo challenge known as #30photosinbetween.

Basically, there are prompts again, but just like the writing challenge you can choose to adhere or pick a different pic to put up. For me, I've decided to accept this opportunity for both Insta and for blog. I need a push to get back to this space daily and Blogtober really made me happy so here we go!

A few of my favorite things...

Homemade breakfast quiche with veggies and mozzarella; a hot cup o'joe with vanilla; my beloved planner that I begin each day with; springtime colored nails; and any view of my engagement ring.

So there we have it. Super excited to see this through and take pics, write, and overall love on this creative space that serves as a virtual memory box to look back on. Thank you again to Helene for always motivating her fellow bloggers with her innovation.

Until we meet again,
M

What makes me happy...Blogtober Day 19

What a timely topic to write about, seeing as its Sunday, and I LOVE Sundays! They make me very happy. Lots of things make me happy though. I am so thankful to say that! So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M

Time Blocking

When I worked in corporate world, I learned the art of time blocking. Actually, in middle and high school this concept was introduced through classes being structured to a similar schedule; we had A and B days and instead of taking 6 classes every day for a shorter duration, we took three each day, alternating which three, for longer periods of time.  To surmise, I’ve implemented this approach for well over 20 years now!  #YouKnowHowIKnowYoureInYour30s #YouReferenceThingsIn20YearIncrements. Anyhowwww...since I transitioned to work for myself from home, I’ve created a time blocking schedule here as well. It’s typically much more flexible than any other time blocking I’ve been part of, but it’s a good system. When you know what you’re going to do or at least have an idea to begin your day, I find it works well and let’s me start out focused even on days I wake up feeling less than on my game. It’s funny looking back, I never realized in 7th grade block classes, it would begi

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w
