Some chili for my chili

Hunter said during last week's FL cold front, that he really just loves chili. So when I awoke this past Sunday feeling a bit of chill in the air, I headed to the store with intentions to spoil my boo with a homemade version. Thank God for good directions and turnip greens because the recipe I found through All Recipes site was too.too.too. good! So easy and quite delicious.

The only differences in what the original recipe called for versus what I made was that I used some canned mild chilies and no cumin, and I added corn. This might just be my best idea yet in 2015. The instructions were straight forward and provided me an easy way to look like an actual chef. Shut up! I love when that happens!!

With a sprinkle of some cornbread crumbles (total last minute idea; some of my muffins stuck, how rude!) and an actual jiffy cornbread muffin, it was a lovely meal. And it provides a hearty amount for leftovers, which in turn lets me play Groundhog Day Chef, and look like I know what I'm doing again and again and again this week!

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Blogtober Day 9: #TBT Best or Worst Halloween Memory

Yessssss Halloween! It is my favorite, without a doubt, hands down!! I love love love Halloween more than any other holiday. The spookiness, the creative costumes, and the overall happy and exciting presence it brings with it each passing year.
