In Tuesday We Trust It's Almost Friday

Y'all. I cannot even begin to say how much I am ready for fall. I believe it hit me halfway through my most recent edition of People Style Watch...

Got me thinking about what I am ready for: animal print; there is nothing like some leopard in the heart of October to get you feeling giddy. Scarves, sweaters, maybe a purse, he possibilities are endless!

I am also on the hunt currently for new bright, classy, sexy red nail polish and lip color. The sooner I find them the better. I am ready to run away and join the annual, big red tented circus folks!

And boots. Now every year, many a lady can say there is the god forsaken/god loving boot hunt. It's like I'm Bootylocks and I can't find ones that are jussstt right so I search and I search and then bam! I find some boots made for walking. Or propping up on a coffee table somewhere to admire them. Honestly, is this not a fun activity for anyone else? No? Hmm, okay then. I don't have a pre-req in mind for style, color, yada yada, but I do need some new ones this fine year. I retired my favorite Nine West black boots last year, sad to say; my only pair of brown are heeled and I am all about embracing my short self lately; and my fun, random colored pair are also heeled and I want flats I say! Dilemma, dilemma huh? Well, I shall stroll the aisles of boot shops and much like a mother setting eyes on her first born, I will know they are mine when I find my next set.

I'm going to go and sip iced coffee under a ceiling fan on full blast in hopes of distracting myself from the 95+ degree weather we will have for about 2-3 more months and scour over the rest of my early fall previews.

Leopards, Reds, and Boots Oh My!

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Simple blessings

I’m lying in bed, next to a snoring husband and my baby girl dogter sprawled out cozy as can be, while the rain falls down upon our roof. Gone are the days of spending a Saturday night downtown at a club, throwing beers back in a honky think, or galavanting around to anywhere with the lights on. And I’m not mad about it. Not even a little bit. There is tilt no place I’d rather be than with hunter, Roni and our comfy sweet little home happily netflixing and writing this here post. It’s a good feeling indeed. I count my blessings extra on nights like this and say a few additional prayers for love and comfort to continue on. I truly don’t ask for more than health, happiness, and love. Anything else is gravy. To simple blessings for all.

Blogtober Dayyyy 27! A Letter To Your Younger Self

First of all, this is my 203rd post! I slid right on by the day I hit 200, probably in a haze from writing so many days consistently like this. So I am now thrilled to announce I am moving right along and haven't tapped out. For that I have Blogtober 2014 to give credit to. I am so so so determined to meet my goal of writing all 31 days. Thank you again for linking this up Helene and Taylor !! Now, on to today's topic: A Letter To Your Younger Self Dear 22-27 year old Meggie, Hey, it's me, 29 year old you. Just wanted to check in and cover a couple things that I've learned to be true, so if you want to go ahead and use this insight sooner, have at it. So a few things still stand that I've mentioned to 17 year old you and as I recounted the ten things I've learned since high school . Please keep drinking water over anything else and avoid the hair bleach. But you know, being 29 and thinking back, the ages 22-27 were a huge chapter of your life a...
