30 Things for Turning 30

I'm 30.  I know 30 things. My 30th birthday was a month ago.  I meant to post sooner for this however, tomato, tomahto, September, November. I am compiling 30 things I feel pretty certain about.  You know, since it's legit that I'm like a wise adult officially.  I mean, all my cousins who are at least 6 years younger than think I'm 35+ already so there's that. 1. My fave: Water. Drink it, live it, love it. 2. Smile often. 3. Eat breakfast. 4. Read fiction. 5. Don't eat a cookie because it's there. Enjoy treats as just that; a treat that's special and one you can't have any old time. 6. Faith and sweat even a playing field. 7. It's not bad to have 1 credit card for those crazy moments that can come up. 8. Buy the shoes. 9. Eat eggs. 10. Meditate. It's mind, eye, physically opening to much more. 11. Go the distance with education. 12. Laughter is so good and so necessary. 13. Give time to people more than gifts. 14. Traveli...

#Loyalty

Give a dog your heart and he'll give you his-John Grogan Two of the most loyal, loving creatures right here.  I've said it many times at this very blog space how much we adore our pups, the PepperRoni sisters, but it never gets old to keep expressing it.  What?  You human children lovers can go shave your back now back to idolizing your non-tailed kids now. I got to thinking during a nap recently how dogs know love.  Do they understand words and just not speak them?  Is it simply through tone?  I mean, those that think a dog isn't smart and just knows what you want by tone obviously never heard Cruella De Ville in the evenings when using her normal tone.  Even she sounded sweeter when she took her coat off for the night. These dogs wait for us to get home and are always thrilled upon our return.  Doesn't matter if we're gone 10 minutes or hours.  Hence the picture above.  That's my girls staring down at the front door waitin...

5 Ways to Survive a Monday

Ok, we get it, you like to wreak havoc, Monday .  You come in through the night and wham!  You're live.  Not so fast, I'm on to you.  I know how to not let you get me like that: 5 Ways to Survive a Monday  1. Exercise early.  Even for 20 mins, get up and grab you some endorphins.  This one is big before hitting traffic, school buses, or any other human interaction. 2. Make breakfast.  I find when I make my own it is particularly helpful in feeling like I've conquered Monday better than usual. 3. DVR a favorite show and get excited to come back home and watch it.  Home is my happy space and I love getting back to it.  DVR serves as a reminder of my fave place since it lives there. 4. Review any to-do's you missed last week.  Then make a list for the current time at hand.  Planning is crucial to Monday Survival.  Crucial(!) I tell you. 5. Find a way to give back.  Buy the person in line behind you c...

I love what I do

The Social Cap has me all (insert heart eyed emoji).  I absolutely love what our business does for others and in turn for my passion to do what I love for a living.  I love immersing myself in all the content and articles to continuously educate myself to then be able to apply towards client strategy.  Sometimes when I am working on projects, whether blog posts or studying analytics, I think to myself "Is this real life?  Am I really living my dream and helping others with theirs?". I want more and no less so I believe that's a good indication I am living for my passion.  That's been an important motivator since my editorial intern days.  I wanted/needed/had to make a way to love what I do.  For a decade, I worked for others doing the same tasks, learning and growing, and now it's through my own small business.  I never want to take for granted the good moments, the even better ones, and for sure during the more difficult times.  This is w...

To the mommas

Such a random time of night that I'm coming to this space at.  For me at least.  I usually write much earlier than this.  I suppose I just got to thinking and felt like well why not? Somewhat of some randomness, but one of my oldest, closest friends had her first baby this morning.  He is a preciously delicious little lamb and that's strictly my thoughts via pictures.  I will meet him on Friday and I can't wait to bite his toes.  No, there is not need for child services, I just express my love in the form of nibbling.  I mean, come on!  Baby toes!!! Now, this is not my first friend to have a baby.  In fact, I have many nieces and nephews I adore.  This baby just got me thinking about mommas and the power there is in such a person.  My own momma has always been a shining star, super hero, end all fixer, hugger, lover, pusher, motivator, giver and the list goes on.  I can't ever say thank you enough to my own mom for all she ...

The Help, Kourtney Kardashian, and a Digital Detox Walk into this Blog

I'm just stopping in here because I feel like I have a few minutes to myself to just babble.  These days babbling is hard to come by.  Who am I kidding; no it isn't! - Our business is great and keeping us busy.  We have goals in mind for more and new plans always excite/terrify/keep me running in circles.  More to come. -Pepper got her nails done this weekend and a fabulous bath.  Girlfran gets the pampering more than me these days! -Roni spins while she does everything.  Specifically but not limited to: going down the 16 stairs to our front door; when eating doggie ice cream; and as she leaps down from the couch.  It's a miracle she didn't get my equilibrium.  Sister sister must not get dizzy dizzy. -Kate Spade is my kryptonite and I am quite ok with this.  When I make my first mil, I know where at least half of its going. #halfkidding -How To Get Away With Murder = new favorite TV show. -Scott Disick is more than a moron for man...

I'm a blogger, duh!

This is my 300th post!  I have worked so hard to get here.  I haven't been here in this space much the last few months so logging in today and seeing that was like exhaling a smooth ahhhhhh. Lately I've been working really hard for Social Cap with projects and exploring strategy.  It's definitely been fun, it's been intense and stressful, and I am exhausted any given day.  I read more inspirational quotes and memes than ever before in my life this far as well.  But by God, I am a proud small business owner. This is what goes into a brand new small business though.  I knew this going in and I stand by the services and work our team does and want to be exhausted.  I want to push and make myself work harder than I ever have to be able to justify all the chaos and all it's taken already this far. I admit I had to push to come here today but my dear old Ohgabetta page has been on my mind, much like Georgia for Ray Charles.  I've felt a lapse in ...
