Humans and Writers of New York, Florida and Everywhere

While Instagramming the other day, I found myself enchanted by a recent posting on the Humans of New York account . That's what I love about writing; inspiration lives everywhere! In this case, I came upon what would inspire me to write an entire blog post, quite honestly because at first glance, the man in the picture looked like Rowan Pope from Scandal. Side bar-Yes, we are late to the Scandal party, but catching up quick! Hunter and I love it. It's never as it seemmmsss! via via Anyhow, once I clicked on the two pictures dedicated to this fine gentleman, the caption completely captivated me. It read: “When I was a kid, I’d always wanted to be a writer. I even made a go of it when I was younger. I moved to California in my twenties, and tried to make it work. I almost sold a screenplay. I traveled around a bunch, and worked odd jobs, but by the time I hit my thirties, I said: ‘That’s it.’ And I went into the insurance business. I worked for a wonderful compan...

Colorful Life

Today we went to brunch and enjoyed lovely outdoor seating with a bit of shade. We sipped mimosas, blueberry raspberry for me, orange blueberry for Hunty, and both were quite quenching. For the Instagram Photo Challenge I've been participating in, today called for #colorfullife as our theme. I feel my capture of imagery exemplifies a pretty and dainty springtime look at some col-lah. Interestingly enough, our conversation centered on ambitions and aspirations for ventures that would offer a very colorful life. Both Hunter and I have thought for a while about pursuing some different interests, mostly along the lines of entrepreneurship. We both are creatively driven and eager to build a successful opportunity that will continuously grow. I'm excited to see what develops, after all I'm not afraid to live colorfully. I'm more afraid to live in dull shades. I mean hello, have you seen some of my outfit posts ? Until we meet again, M

Weekending

Last week was divine chaos. I'm working my normal FT work schedule; working on two personal business ventures; taking a social media certification program; and working on an extra project for a work event that's happening in March. It's fun and rewarding and I love every second of it. I just have to jot down times to come up for air. On Saturday we attended a friend's business anniversary party. His shop celebrated one year and some change in existence and I can't say enough how empowering it is to know people who are actively living out dreams, who are getting up every day to get after it all over again. Hunter and I took in the beautiful Florida winter weather for brunch outside as well. Below is a Kobe Beef burger with a'egg atop and Bang Bang Shrimp Benedict with asparagus. Glitter and gold and everything I dream of basically. I saw this meme a few weeks ago and I have not stopped laughing. What can I say, I'm easy to humor. I positively...

Blogtober 14, Day 21! My dream vacation...

Oh yes yes yes. Let's talk dream vacation. For me, I'm a simple gal with a want for a breeze, some crystal clear water, a little sunshine, and breathtaking views for good measure. In all honesty, staying stateside will work just fine. I'm thinking Hawaii would be justtttt perfect. To start this will be a 10 day vacation. Every morning, I would post up on a gorgeous deck and meditate. Chamomile tea will be fabulous, thank you. As the day moves on, I shall move to my daily massage location, which no doubt will overlook said amazing views previously mentioned. Then to the spa for facials, steam room, maybe some yoga, because one can't be on such a vacay without the proper medley of spa love. After that, I'll have lunch outdoors, also while taking in my scenery. Lunch shall feature the freshest catch the chefs can come up with, full of wow and flavor, and obvi mimosas and margs will be flowing. As the afternoon rolls in, I would check out some local haun...

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling

Happy Wednesday, praise the lawd we are halfway through the work week! I cannotcannotcannot wait for the weekend to get here. The pep in my step today I seem to have found is totally generating from this anticipation. Oh and the Oscars hosted by Ellen are also this weekend. Hallelujah all around! So what to say, what to say when you want to blogging blog blog...a list! That always does the trick: 1. Health is an incredibly scary thing to me. I want to be healthy and active and take care of myself but it's still scary that as preventative as you may be, there are things out there to arise on their own. I guess the best practice is to just do what you can to not help the hands of any fate you may encounter otherwise. 2. If I was going into college again for the first time ever, I would major in Interior Design. I love decorating and would appreciate learning certain dynamics to beautify a space precisely and methodically. 3. Hunter and I have had some serious conversat...
