Ideas to Reboot

We all need a little reboot sometimes and I am no different. I have a few things that always put a fresh pep in my step:

-A new lipstick-bright and wildly colored usually

-a komboocha or a cup of matcha green tea, depending which ice already at the time of said needed reboot in the day



-journaling ideas or making a list of to-do’s, both for necessities and for aspirations. Writing is still my numero uno and it’s centered me since I was a kid. Don’t see this one going anywhere.

-recalling my 10 areas of meaning I’ve decided on

-cuddling my Roni girl. She is the sweetest, most ferocious fur baby and she gives absolute love

-walks, I love getting out and doing a quick stroll or longer as time permits

-getting into bed and enjoying cozy blankets and a good show

-reciting a few positive mantras I hold dear

I’m simple in my approach to a lot these days. These things I do to remind myself of that mentality are just the fix I need to rekindle my passion and fire for other situations.

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T.

While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Change Has Arrived

New adventures lie ahead.  I've left my full time job in college admissions and am now full time into mine and Hunter's business.  I'm working on a few other ventures so when I know more I'll follow up on that.

I spent 6 years working at my last job and while I always knew I would go to my business full time eventually, it hasn't truly hit me that I'm not just taking some vacation time and spending a few days away.  I'm ready for my new normal though.

It's times like this I love having a lifestyle blog.  I'll look back on this post at some point and the thoughts had, the feelings felt will all come back.  This is a big milestone, leaving a corporate type job and going full speed as a small business owner.  Yay!!

I've got big plans for the next.  Excited for what's to come.

Blogtober Day 26, Who would play you in a movie...

Ohhh good one, Blogtober.

Someone once told me I reminded them of Drew Barrymore. They didn't say if it was for look or personality, so I'm not sure where they drew the conclusion from. See what I did there?

I threw this out to one of my very best and oldest friends Andrea. Talking it out, we agreed that Drew and I do share some similar qualities, both in personality and in dressing and accessorizing. Andrea reasoned that Drew is quirky and a little less traditional, much like me. I reasoned we have the same headbands:

I also recalled that when I was a little girl, everyone thought I looked like a young Drew Barrymore. Both my parents have said people would come up to them all the time and remark on my resemblance to her in that movie Firestarter:

Whatever it is, I would absolutely be pleased if Drew played me in a movie.

Now, if Penelope Garcia was a real person and not a character on a TV show (Criminal Minds), she would undoubtedly play me in a movie:
