Bloggin' Loggin'

I swear I am not proud of this admittance, however, when I logged in today I absolutely questioned if it was the correct way to do so.  It's clearly been a little vacay from this ol'bloggy blog but here I am.  As history would show, I take little hiatuses but always I found my way back.  Who says you can't go home again?

The usual suspects have kept my attention thus feeding my absence from here; business, projects for said business, being doggone tired, chasing chickens day in and day out.  Well, that last part isn't exactly true.  But it felt right.  Basically, I got creatively lazy for myself whilst I've fed the hog for others.  No, I'm not calling anyone a hog, I just fancy the expression.  See what happens when I take over a month break?  I've inevitably insulted someone.

My creativity tends to come alive in the fall.  Like legends during this season, I thrive for more outlets such as this one.  Perhaps it's due to less sweating just from glancing outdoors and being able to catch my breath without heat exhaustion.  Either way, I'm here!

Look forward to talking about #Halloween soon because it's totally my fave!  Don't expect the other basic topics like pumpkin spice anything because quite honestly the stuff grosses me out.  I only like my pumpkin in the form of pie or roasted seeds.  Go 'head and keep the rest.

WHAT...a terrible post.  But I made it here and I plan to do it again.  Holla!!

Let's meet again,
M

What makes me happy...Blogtober Day 19

What a timely topic to write about, seeing as its Sunday, and I LOVE Sundays! They make me very happy. Lots of things make me happy though. I am so thankful to say that! So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M

Time Blocking

When I worked in corporate world, I learned the art of time blocking. Actually, in middle and high school this concept was introduced through classes being structured to a similar schedule; we had A and B days and instead of taking 6 classes every day for a shorter duration, we took three each day, alternating which three, for longer periods of time.  To surmise, I’ve implemented this approach for well over 20 years now!  #YouKnowHowIKnowYoureInYour30s #YouReferenceThingsIn20YearIncrements. Anyhowwww...since I transitioned to work for myself from home, I’ve created a time blocking schedule here as well. It’s typically much more flexible than any other time blocking I’ve been part of, but it’s a good system. When you know what you’re going to do or at least have an idea to begin your day, I find it works well and let’s me start out focused even on days I wake up feeling less than on my game. It’s funny looking back, I never realized in 7th grade block classes, it would begi

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w
