3 Things

I love this 3 Things series I've factored in to my repertoire.  You know, for those moments when you feel like writing but don't necessarily have a set topic.

1. I am obsessed with this song:

Ob.sessed.  Just ask poor Hunter, Lol.  It's not brand new at all but it's just so precious.  It's a feel good anthem to just hop around to.  I think it's a safe assumption we could all use a bit more of the feel good hopping right now, no?

2. I initially wrote out some thoughts on Kim K releasing the Taylor Swift recording.  My thoughts are still developing though.  This type of situation piques my interest because I am a fan of Pop Culture and always studying artistic integrity.  Yes, I do see this as partly based on the latter.  I'm going to read up on this developing scenario and craft my opinion with time.  That's something as media professionals we all could stand to honor a bit more I think.

3. I'm a long time Essie nail polish gal.  LOVE the stuff: it doesn't chip easily; they have an array of colors on trend and classic; they don't wreck my nails from being worn 6/7 days a week; and they are fair priced for all of the previously mentioned purposes.  I did purchase some different brands the last few months to test the waters again and I will say....I'm still an Essie girl.  I won't sway from home again, girl!

Well that was fun and provided just the short and sweet amount of detour from my workload on lunch break.  Hope Monday is the one getting its arse kicked between yous two.

Let's meet again,
M

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T.

While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”.

Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration:

Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better.

Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See what I did t…

Blogtober Day 26, Who would play you in a movie...

Ohhh good one, Blogtober.

Someone once told me I reminded them of Drew Barrymore. They didn't say if it was for look or personality, so I'm not sure where they drew the conclusion from. See what I did there?

I threw this out to one of my very best and oldest friends Andrea. Talking it out, we agreed that Drew and I do share some similar qualities, both in personality and in dressing and accessorizing. Andrea reasoned that Drew is quirky and a little less traditional, much like me. I reasoned we have the same headbands:

I also recalled that when I was a little girl, everyone thought I looked like a young Drew Barrymore. Both my parents have said people would come up to them all the time and remark on my resemblance to her in that movie Firestarter:

Whatever it is, I would absolutely be pleased if Drew played me in a movie.

Now, if Penelope Garcia was a real person and not a character on a TV show (Criminal Minds), she would undoubtedly play me in a movie:

"I strongly believe if you work hard whatever you want, it will come to you. I know that's easier said than done, but keep trying"-Beyonce

I think it's safe to say at this point we all know who Beyonce is and that she does in fact rule the world. Need further prove from anything else you may know as evidence of this? Allow me to share an observation...

Whilst walking for some fresh air and cardio Sunday morning, I found myself jamming to the Beyonce station on Pandora, a first in a long time I will add. Now, with other stations powered by a specific artist, one will find other artists taking up residence on that channel as well. Not in this example. While I admit I did skip a few of Bey's songs, sorry girl, only once did an Alicia Keys song play and once it was Destiny's Child (It was Bugaboo for the record and yes, it was as fabulous as I remember. I also need to remember to dig out my pager from storage). Anyhow, all other songs, whether prompted by skipping or what came next, was Beyonce every.single.time. There we have it; further proof Beyonce is queen of all the lands.

Let me be clear, I am tota…
