Blogtober Day 22, My pet peeves...

Things that cause me to make faces such as this, aka pet peeves:

-the use of the "R" word in a casual reference, to identify something as "stupid", or just overall. This is probably my biggest pet peeve in life because that word carries a lot of weight and hate. There are a million better choices to use in every example. I assure you.

-toilet paper rolls left as the empty cardboard

-when my beautiful angel cake baby girl dogters, the little one in particular, jump up on the couch with snacks after I just vacuumed it

-loud assholes in a room who don't let others contribute an opinion

-when something goes awry with the DVR. I 100% KNOW I set it to record. #firstworldproblems

-finding an ideal dress, shirt, or skirt in a store and there's a tear, a stain, or something you just wouldn't be able to fix. And it's on sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-cruelness to the elderly and animals. This is an area of no restraint for me, I will lose it if I witness such atrocities.

-bullying in any sort of way. WHY is this still a thing??? Seriously, be kind to each other. Just.that.easy.

So there we have my ranting of pet peeves. I like to keep it pretty positive in life overall but hey, we're all human and we all have things that bug us. What grinds your gears?

Until we meet again,
M

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w

What makes me happy...Blogtober Day 19

What a timely topic to write about, seeing as its Sunday, and I LOVE Sundays! They make me very happy. Lots of things make me happy though. I am so thankful to say that! So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center?                                                                               mk
