Blogtober 2014-Day 1: If I won the lottery

October 1st, like a nice smack to the face. Is 2014 really almost over? How time flies when you're having fun an adult with a full time job, and a home to always vacuum/tidy/pledge, and dogs(hence the constant vacuuming) and a husband/boyfriend/boo/live-in-lover (whatever I call him this week) to look after.

Today, I am thrilled to kick off Blogtober 2014:

The Daily Tay

This opportunity is brought to the blogging world by two super cool cats known as Helene from Helene in Between and Taylor from The Daily Tay. The challenge is that you write for all 31 days of Halloween, er, October.

Sorry, in our house, we already massively decorated for my favoritest holiday in all the land. I love it so much so, that Roni is not speaking to us until November. Why you ask? Well....

Worst.Dog.Parents.Ever

Any how, back to the matter at hand: Blogtober. Day one and the prompt is....If you won the lottery you'd...

Well now. Truly a million dollar question. The irony here is that I NEVER buy lottery tickets, play the lottery, look at the machines at Publix, nada. I have bought scratch-offs ONE time in the 11 years I legally could. For the sake of imagination however, with my new found fortune, I would...

-Definitely be logical...Right after heading to Louboutin's for a new set of hooves. Woof.

-Pay off the student debt I just had to have. That's a given if I come in to any kind of fortune though.

-Invest in Apple stock. Oh and Publix. We're practically keeping the lights on at our neighborhood location already, so why not?

-Go on an extended, relaxing vacation with Hunter

-Take my mom to NYC and Italy

-Buy the dogs some things extra gourmet

-Send nice gifts to all of my family members and friends

-I would also buy a Starbucks location or two. I've always wanted to own a Starbucks.

Other than these few things, I would hoard the winnings. I'd definitely save or invest more than I didn't.

Now, excuse me, I need to google How to Play the Lottery for Dummies. This post has me feeling all kinds of lucky.

Until we meet again, (tomorrow for Blogtober 2014 Day 2, Yay!)

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w

What makes me happy...Blogtober Day 19

What a timely topic to write about, seeing as its Sunday, and I LOVE Sundays! They make me very happy. Lots of things make me happy though. I am so thankful to say that! So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center?                                                                               mk
