Hark! The angels sing about 60 degree FL weather

So here in the ever sunny Florida, you know, Satan's well-heated living room, we are projected to have an early cold front THIS WEEK. This, of course, is due to heavy, torrential downpourings first, but details. We may have to go through the storm to get the rainbow, but when that rainbow comes in the form of 60 DEGREE WEATHER(!!!) count me in with a faux fur.

How fun this time of year is. I find myself searching the TV guide for Fall favorites like Remember the Titans and Hocus Pocus. I get excited knowing the classic Halloween episodes of Home Improvement, Frasier, and Roseann will be on. Also, real time TV faves are coming back or getting started and who doesn't love fall TV line ups? My scarves are at the front of accessory row and pumpkin bread is on the menu to bake this week.

I even like football this season. Well, like may be a strong word, but I get a little giddy on Thursday nights as things kick-off(obvious pun intended). I've always enjoyed the festivities of the football; tailgating, yum party foods, the spirit it brings. But this year, the sport is also intriguing. Don't get me wrong, I still have no idea of what a down is, nor do I care to, but I like to yell and scream in excitement/anticipation when somebody has the ball. Oh and end zone dances = best thing ever. Makes it all worth it right there.

Alrighty, well. Excuse me while I get to getting on. I've got major Pinspiration and need to get a hustle on if I hope to have everything officially fall-lified:

I envision this along the front window. Where people usually place a Christmas tree. I prefer to show off my s'more bar from now until February.

This. This is what dreams are made of.

Tell me, my pretty, what is the agenda for your fall? What's your fall weather like?

Until we meet again,

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Simple blessings

I’m lying in bed, next to a snoring husband and my baby girl dogter sprawled out cozy as can be, while the rain falls down upon our roof. Gone are the days of spending a Saturday night downtown at a club, throwing beers back in a honky think, or galavanting around to anywhere with the lights on. And I’m not mad about it. Not even a little bit. There is tilt no place I’d rather be than with hunter, Roni and our comfy sweet little home happily netflixing and writing this here post. It’s a good feeling indeed. I count my blessings extra on nights like this and say a few additional prayers for love and comfort to continue on. I truly don’t ask for more than health, happiness, and love. Anything else is gravy. To simple blessings for all.

Blogtober Dayyyy 27! A Letter To Your Younger Self

First of all, this is my 203rd post! I slid right on by the day I hit 200, probably in a haze from writing so many days consistently like this. So I am now thrilled to announce I am moving right along and haven't tapped out. For that I have Blogtober 2014 to give credit to. I am so so so determined to meet my goal of writing all 31 days. Thank you again for linking this up Helene and Taylor !! Now, on to today's topic: A Letter To Your Younger Self Dear 22-27 year old Meggie, Hey, it's me, 29 year old you. Just wanted to check in and cover a couple things that I've learned to be true, so if you want to go ahead and use this insight sooner, have at it. So a few things still stand that I've mentioned to 17 year old you and as I recounted the ten things I've learned since high school . Please keep drinking water over anything else and avoid the hair bleach. But you know, being 29 and thinking back, the ages 22-27 were a huge chapter of your life a...
