Fashion to my left, fashion to my right...

September, September. I love this month. A new season upon us offering a freshness, a new excitement, a bit of a breeze, and my People Style Watch is a little more plump and full of inspiring style. I am beyond thrilled that my favorite beach gal Lauren Conrad is appearing on this issue too. I've hit the mothership flipping through and am savoring every second. Remember the line in Sex and the City when Carrie describes how she would sometimes buy Vogue over food when she was younger and broke because she felt it filled her up more? Yes. Absolutely yes.

Fashion is my forever. Every part of the industry thrills me. The hype, the glamour, the styling opportunities. One example to offer my sentiments further, would be the film The Devil Wears Prada; Andy(Anne Hathaway), initially a non fashion enthusiast, snickers to herself when Miranda is styling a look, and referencing a specific shade of blue, known as cerulean. Andy gets called out and explains how she doesn't understand why fashion people act so strange, it's all blue, yada yada.

Miranda with her chic smirk, proceeds to verbally devour Andy and her observation, while providing a detailed account of how runway fashion trickles down the line to the masses, and despite what a non believer Andy may be, she too has bought in with her own sweater she is wearing in that moment, which happens to be in the blue family. That's definitely the shorthand version of this synopsis, so if you are not familiar, please stop being so deprived and get a hold of a copy.

My always favorite fall fashions:
Over sized cardigans
Ankle boots
Scarves
Hi-Low pullover sweaters atop dresses
gold and rose gold jewels, pops of teal(there's something enchanting to me about teal in the fall/winter months paired with deeper shades)
bold statement pieces like big bangles
bright lips-a punchy pink, a Monroe red, and so many more

Tell me, do you fashion too?

Til we meet again,
M

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Simple blessings

I’m lying in bed, next to a snoring husband and my baby girl dogter sprawled out cozy as can be, while the rain falls down upon our roof. Gone are the days of spending a Saturday night downtown at a club, throwing beers back in a honky think, or galavanting around to anywhere with the lights on. And I’m not mad about it. Not even a little bit. There is tilt no place I’d rather be than with hunter, Roni and our comfy sweet little home happily netflixing and writing this here post. It’s a good feeling indeed. I count my blessings extra on nights like this and say a few additional prayers for love and comfort to continue on. I truly don’t ask for more than health, happiness, and love. Anything else is gravy. To simple blessings for all.

Blogtober Dayyyy 27! A Letter To Your Younger Self

First of all, this is my 203rd post! I slid right on by the day I hit 200, probably in a haze from writing so many days consistently like this. So I am now thrilled to announce I am moving right along and haven't tapped out. For that I have Blogtober 2014 to give credit to. I am so so so determined to meet my goal of writing all 31 days. Thank you again for linking this up Helene and Taylor !! Now, on to today's topic: A Letter To Your Younger Self Dear 22-27 year old Meggie, Hey, it's me, 29 year old you. Just wanted to check in and cover a couple things that I've learned to be true, so if you want to go ahead and use this insight sooner, have at it. So a few things still stand that I've mentioned to 17 year old you and as I recounted the ten things I've learned since high school . Please keep drinking water over anything else and avoid the hair bleach. But you know, being 29 and thinking back, the ages 22-27 were a huge chapter of your life a...
