Keep smiling because life is a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about -Marilyn Monroe

Fridayyyyyy, Friday. You ol' devil you. Thank all the happiness in the land for ya!

Let's KISS and go with a recap for some Friday Favorites of the week:

My man: Hunter is without a doubt one of the greatest people I could ever be blessed to have in my life and here's just a few reasons why(don't want it to go to his big beautiful head too much): he's comfortable to call my mom like he would his own and talk freely to her; he considers each of my friends a friend of his and laughs with them genuinely; he encourages my ambitions and offers insight when I ask and when I don't. He's not afraid to push me and that's okay because it's with intention, never malice and always supportive. Ugh, such mush, right? We'll leave it at that for now, like I said, no need to inflate too much.

Achievement and milestones: We are venturing into the land of home buying and considering the options. It feels good to know where we stand and reflect on all the hard work we've put into our life together to get there.

Apples: I cannot get enough granny smiths all the time but especially this week. They make me so so happy.

5k's: One of my gf's and I have committed to 2 of these treks per week and are off to the races, pun intended. I also signed up for a company 5k next month. What can I say? I'm a sucker for steady pace and race t-shirts.

4Rivers BBQ y'all: Our work catered for us today and let me just say mmmm mmmm mmmm good. Hold on, I'm also favoring wet naps for my greasy little paws this Friday.

My last favorite for this week is the sunshine. FL has been shining bright with a windy breeze and is truly in its finest form of the year. Blue skies, please follow me.

That concludes this week of blogging with muah. Please tip your waitress, put your shoes back on, and grab a virtual cupcake from me to you on the way out. Happy weekend!

Til we meet again,
M

  1. Apples. Seriously, I eat at least one a day. Who says that saying isn't true. Do you ever eat the Honey Crisp apples? Next best thing to the Granny Smith. That and a little bit of peanut butter. Is that what heaven is like? :)

  2. You know, I haven't tried the honey crisp, but I sure will add to my grocery list today! Apples are by far one of the best fruits EVER EVER.

What a timely topic to write about, seeing as its Sunday, and I LOVE Sundays! They make me very happy. Lots of things make me happy though. I am so thankful to say that! So in no particular order, allow me to kick back this beautiful Sunday and let some pictures tell you more about what makes me happy: The pawple who are always waiting and happy when you get home: Well, sometimes... This cat: Amazing company to go through life with: Food Trucks: #TBT: Laughing like this: Seeing the world through the eyes of the littlest people: Fashion: Kate Spade in particular: Family, with a highlighted focus on our generation: I feel very fortunate for what and who makes me happy. Tell me, what makes you happiest in all the land? Until we meet again, M

Time Blocking

When I worked in corporate world, I learned the art of time blocking. Actually, in middle and high school this concept was introduced through classes being structured to a similar schedule; we had A and B days and instead of taking 6 classes every day for a shorter duration, we took three each day, alternating which three, for longer periods of time.  To surmise, I’ve implemented this approach for well over 20 years now!  #YouKnowHowIKnowYoureInYour30s #YouReferenceThingsIn20YearIncrements. Anyhowwww...since I transitioned to work for myself from home, I’ve created a time blocking schedule here as well. It’s typically much more flexible than any other time blocking I’ve been part of, but it’s a good system. When you know what you’re going to do or at least have an idea to begin your day, I find it works well and let’s me start out focused even on days I wake up feeling less than on my game. It’s funny looking back, I never realized in 7th grade block classes, it would begi

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w
