You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling

Happy Wednesday, praise the lawd we are halfway through the work week! I cannotcannotcannot wait for the weekend to get here. The pep in my step today I seem to have found is totally generating from this anticipation. Oh and the Oscars hosted by Ellen are also this weekend. Hallelujah all around!

So what to say, what to say when you want to blogging blog blog...a list! That always does the trick:

1. Health is an incredibly scary thing to me. I want to be healthy and active and take care of myself but it's still scary that as preventative as you may be, there are things out there to arise on their own. I guess the best practice is to just do what you can to not help the hands of any fate you may encounter otherwise.

2. If I was going into college again for the first time ever, I would major in Interior Design. I love decorating and would appreciate learning certain dynamics to beautify a space precisely and methodically.

3. Hunter and I have had some serious conversations lately about growing our little family. Y'all, we think...we may....get another dog! Yes, yes it's true. (Quit with the side eyeing, mom.) We want to expand our brood with another furry little princess face. Thank you for the love and support on this big decision for our family.

4. Grape flavor anything-lip gloss/sticks, candy, gum, yuck! Other than the fruit itself, no thank you to the rest.

5. Yoga. Great, great concept. I even took one of my last classes in undergrad of yoga. You know what I did in the rest phase? Organized my grocery list. Not as big as a success as I'd have liked. The stretching part works for me already, it's just the mind part. This is something I plan to revisit though. I shall not be defeated.

6. Dexter. I miss it. What a joy, what a ride, what an overall great series. Not so much a fan of the last season or season 6 but otherwise genius.

7. If I win the lotto: Pay off student debt; build us a pinterest as our greatest inspiration themed house; set up college funds for each nephew and our one niece; pursue a PhD in Communications; become the founder of doggie do good schools- a place where all dogs can go to pursue their ambitions; and last I would launch a few businesses Hunty and I would love to bring to life. Now, is that asking too much?

That should do it. Good way to leave off, no? Talk about winning the lottery and making so many dreams come true. However, these are otherwise known as goals because with or without a stroke of luck, I'd like to meet each of these one way or another. As my gal Juno likes to say, "Whoa, dream big!"

Til me meet again,
M

  1. I knew we were meant to be friends. We clearly think alike. I would also go back for interior design. I just said the other day, I have 3 problems ... West Elm, Pottery Barn, and Crate and Barrel. :)

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Simple blessings

I’m lying in bed, next to a snoring husband and my baby girl dogter sprawled out cozy as can be, while the rain falls down upon our roof. Gone are the days of spending a Saturday night downtown at a club, throwing beers back in a honky think, or galavanting around to anywhere with the lights on. And I’m not mad about it. Not even a little bit. There is tilt no place I’d rather be than with hunter, Roni and our comfy sweet little home happily netflixing and writing this here post. It’s a good feeling indeed. I count my blessings extra on nights like this and say a few additional prayers for love and comfort to continue on. I truly don’t ask for more than health, happiness, and love. Anything else is gravy. To simple blessings for all.

Blogtober Dayyyy 27! A Letter To Your Younger Self

First of all, this is my 203rd post! I slid right on by the day I hit 200, probably in a haze from writing so many days consistently like this. So I am now thrilled to announce I am moving right along and haven't tapped out. For that I have Blogtober 2014 to give credit to. I am so so so determined to meet my goal of writing all 31 days. Thank you again for linking this up Helene and Taylor !! Now, on to today's topic: A Letter To Your Younger Self Dear 22-27 year old Meggie, Hey, it's me, 29 year old you. Just wanted to check in and cover a couple things that I've learned to be true, so if you want to go ahead and use this insight sooner, have at it. So a few things still stand that I've mentioned to 17 year old you and as I recounted the ten things I've learned since high school . Please keep drinking water over anything else and avoid the hair bleach. But you know, being 29 and thinking back, the ages 22-27 were a huge chapter of your life a...
