Bears Know Best

Hmphhhhhh....My glorious 3 day weekend is coming to a close. Booooo. So much was able to be accomplished: event for BRINK, writing for BRINK, sheets; curtains, rugs washed; did grocery shopping for fresh deliciousness; got 3 presents away from completing Christmas shopping anddd everything is wrapped(I am my mother circa 1990); went for a run with the weird in my hair; caught up on Dexter--2 episodes, I know-Worst.Fan.Ever. award right here---I even had time to fit in an allergy attack but it didn't upset me too much because when it happened I still had two whole days left to enjoy.

While at the store I snagged two bones for the girls. Pepper of course obliged and spoke on command, shook my hand as asked, and sat patiently while I kept Roni from spinning 27 times in anticipation. Pep ran off with a gleam in her eye to devour hers while Roni, not able to lift her bone(I NEED to create a bag of dog bones for those housing fur creatures of different size-note to self-1 item added to to-do list---seriously, people, someone--wait for it--throw me a bone here :) I crack myself up), scooted across the kitchen floor nudging it along with her to the mat so she could lay her belly on that while she nuzzled it down. Just when I start to wonder about her, she uses her brain instead of her adorably good looks to figure things out. That's my angel.

My lovable Bear is skipping around thrilled with his football day. "Tebowwwww--classic Tebowwwww" is the giddy saying around here today. I'm happy for him when he has a good fantasy football day too. Actually, I'm happy when he takes down the signs he makes that read "Football Sunday. No girls allowed" from the bedroom door. It's not like I pay them any mind. This is the kind of day where it's good to leave flyers around with Nine West sales and seem to be everywhere Hunter is, asking questions about the players or dishing on gossip about their personal lives I read about: "Did you know that so-and-so from the Cowboys totally had an affair with his nanny?" Sooner than later he's saying, "You know, I haven't picked up anything for you lately. Why don't you go pick something out, on me?" I just love that Bear.

Another week shall begin at the stroke of 6:45am. Time now to situate my work belongings, outline my to-do's, writing assignments etc and whatever else needing addressing. It's oddly relaxing, gratifying. Only two weeks til work's Christmas party, 3 til Christmas, and a bit under a month for a whole new year to begin. Lots coming up, lots going on. I should remember to rest up like this little meatloaf right here:

Til we meet again....

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w...

Simple blessings

I’m lying in bed, next to a snoring husband and my baby girl dogter sprawled out cozy as can be, while the rain falls down upon our roof. Gone are the days of spending a Saturday night downtown at a club, throwing beers back in a honky think, or galavanting around to anywhere with the lights on. And I’m not mad about it. Not even a little bit. There is tilt no place I’d rather be than with hunter, Roni and our comfy sweet little home happily netflixing and writing this here post. It’s a good feeling indeed. I count my blessings extra on nights like this and say a few additional prayers for love and comfort to continue on. I truly don’t ask for more than health, happiness, and love. Anything else is gravy. To simple blessings for all.

Blogtober Dayyyy 27! A Letter To Your Younger Self

First of all, this is my 203rd post! I slid right on by the day I hit 200, probably in a haze from writing so many days consistently like this. So I am now thrilled to announce I am moving right along and haven't tapped out. For that I have Blogtober 2014 to give credit to. I am so so so determined to meet my goal of writing all 31 days. Thank you again for linking this up Helene and Taylor !! Now, on to today's topic: A Letter To Your Younger Self Dear 22-27 year old Meggie, Hey, it's me, 29 year old you. Just wanted to check in and cover a couple things that I've learned to be true, so if you want to go ahead and use this insight sooner, have at it. So a few things still stand that I've mentioned to 17 year old you and as I recounted the ten things I've learned since high school . Please keep drinking water over anything else and avoid the hair bleach. But you know, being 29 and thinking back, the ages 22-27 were a huge chapter of your life a...
