Create, Drive, Passion

Pic has zero to do with post; Roni on guard is pretty freaking cute though. Some days I have so much to say and I long for this outlet.  I have a constant note page open in my phone appropriately titled "blog ideas".  While at a recent sporting event, I was definitely in the moment and rooting for our beloved OC Lions, but I also found myself eager to write and felt a surge for doing so.  Ideas were coming to me left and right and back to center again, almost in sync with the movement happening in front of me I suppose.  I kept thinking of grabbing my phone out and scribbling ideas because it felt like they were hitting me in rapid pace. Since I write content for a living and am always developing material for usually an assigned purpose, I like this space being available.  I've always said this ol' blog is for me and my thoughts and I'll be, it surely is.  I think I want to either find a writing challenge or create one for myself.  Like a 30 ...

Stay hungry, stay foolish

This speech is not new or recent.  It is incredibly relevant and endearing still though.  My favorite of the three stories is the middle section where doing what you love is so promoted.  My least favorite story is death.  It's unsettling and true what Steve says, how everyone wants to go to Heaven but no one wants to die to get there.  All of these points do paint a very good picture describing life as an entrepreneur, as a next level adult, as a person navigating a new journey.  This is also essentially me at this phase of my life. Let's get the harder subject out of the way.  I'm absolutely terrified of death.  Isn't everybody?  I mean, how do people not obsess over feeling robbed by an early death or a health related death or any death?  Hear that?  That's anxiety joining the conversation.  I understand what Steve is trying to point out, despite it being such a heavy topic to weave into a commencement speech after ...

Wake Up Early

Turning 30 this year has made me reflect on these very thoughts. A new division of age has made me feel anxious, made me feel stable, and given me opportunity to consider what's next.  As I consider, this little blurb suits where I am at in my current chapter. I've always been ambitious whether it was to get into a party back in my hay day, or maintaining my first apartment and bills as a server one table at a time.  Ambition is part of my make up as a person and I truly believe it has served me well this far.  This note though, it pushes to make it further my own and really hone in, in a whole new way. It's true what they say about turning a new age, particularly 30; you tend to be much more in a place of peace for who you are, what you want, what you stand for and the reverse, what you're not willing to accept.  I'm more content in who I am, and most important, who I have built myself into as I've followed this note's instructions. Any time ...

Weekending

Last week was divine chaos. I'm working my normal FT work schedule; working on two personal business ventures; taking a social media certification program; and working on an extra project for a work event that's happening in March. It's fun and rewarding and I love every second of it. I just have to jot down times to come up for air. On Saturday we attended a friend's business anniversary party. His shop celebrated one year and some change in existence and I can't say enough how empowering it is to know people who are actively living out dreams, who are getting up every day to get after it all over again. Hunter and I took in the beautiful Florida winter weather for brunch outside as well. Below is a Kobe Beef burger with a'egg atop and Bang Bang Shrimp Benedict with asparagus. Glitter and gold and everything I dream of basically. I saw this meme a few weeks ago and I have not stopped laughing. What can I say, I'm easy to humor. I positively...

Hustle Bustle

via Damnnnnn. That's a fact in fact. Seriously, no truer a statement has hit me like this one in quite some time. I've been focused on being zen lately and while it's good, I do well with hustle. When I have to balance a few plates, wear a few hats, I usually kick ass at it. I have so many visions and creative expressions to make, I very much need to give my ambitions a push to the tush. I've been neglecting my creative self and now I'm yearning for it. I've been on an indefinite reprieve and I needdddd to get up and at 'em again. I must give respect to being a bit more zen. And I realize more than ever balance is pivotal. It's not good to swarm yourself all day with too much of anything; work and school in particular. It's important that I make time for as much calm as chaos. Anyhow, random thoughts. Ones that feel good. Hustle up and out peeps. Until we meet again, M
