Work it out

There are many distinctions between working in a more corporate type position and working for myself primarily out of a home office.   For one, I get to make breakfast and lunch in the comfort of my kitchen fresh and don't have to lug 7 and a half Tupperware to the office to assemble a halfway decent meal. I also love that I can set the entire tone for my space be it with music streaming, the temperature, and with mindful exercises.   I'm much more aware of my inner peace levels and throughout a day I often practice various exercises to promote wellness and calm, logical thoughts to get tasks accomplished.   I want to continue on this course more than anything because I feel inspired and grateful most when I'm self aware. The last couple of days I've felt a little foggier and kind of bleh but it's also been raining here pretty much all day every day for about 2 weeks.   It's messing with me mostly in the sense of my sinuses being out of whac...

Create, Drive, Passion

Pic has zero to do with post; Roni on guard is pretty freaking cute though. Some days I have so much to say and I long for this outlet.  I have a constant note page open in my phone appropriately titled "blog ideas".  While at a recent sporting event, I was definitely in the moment and rooting for our beloved OC Lions, but I also found myself eager to write and felt a surge for doing so.  Ideas were coming to me left and right and back to center again, almost in sync with the movement happening in front of me I suppose.  I kept thinking of grabbing my phone out and scribbling ideas because it felt like they were hitting me in rapid pace. Since I write content for a living and am always developing material for usually an assigned purpose, I like this space being available.  I've always said this ol' blog is for me and my thoughts and I'll be, it surely is.  I think I want to either find a writing challenge or create one for myself.  Like a 30 ...

Continued Thankfulness

I don't mind talking about Thanksgiving despite it being two weeks after it. It was one of my all time favorite holiday experiences ever. On Wednesday before the big day, I traveled to my hometown and visited with tons of family. I have a big family and it was nice to be able to catch up with almost everyone that lives there. And despite my father insisting that my MPH of 35 on the main road through town, required constant commentary and reaching for the handle bar above his head for safety, I'd say the day was a success. "Orlando Style ain't just a magazine..." -Dad, November 2014 A few glimpses of some good times: On actual Thanksgiving, Hunter and I hosted at our house. We had the perfect blend of family, friends, the yummiest of foods, cozy blankets to nestle with after too much of said foods, and beautiful Florida cold weather the entire day. We had the Macy's Day Parade playing throughout the morning as we prepared for our lovies to arrive a...

When smartwater asks...

Today smartwater tweeted : “we’re inspired by the clouds every day. what inspires you?” And this got me thinking… I’m not very good at picking one thing. Ever. I love lists, I adore semi colons, and I’m more than a little wordy in 109% of every thing I say or do. Needless to say, the thought of picking one thing that inspires me daily, is a smidge challenging. A good challenge though and one that I accept! Initially, love came to mind. Good ol’L-O-V-E. Aww, how sweet, right? Love from my people, love for them, love of things, all of it. Then I thought about it more and realized that while love is grand, maybe that’s not the thing that inspires me. Motivates yes, but inspire? Hmm… Passion… Words… Tales of strength… Family… Ambition… Well shoot. I’m failing rather well at picking one thing that confidently surmises what inspires me, ay? And as I contemplate, it comes to me! Life. Plain old day to day life inspires me tremendously. Be it the happiness from...

“Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door.”—Kyle Chandler

This quote is everything. Nothing compares to a hard earned accomplishment; one where you pave your own path, build up the terrain about said path, and then maintain it. I am on a high from graduating soon yes, and open to the possibilities of what's to come. Optimism is my best friend and I cannot wait to knock heartily on some doors. The hardest part to most anything is the beginning. Working out, starting a new job, a business, it's all difficult initially. But really, once the first door is opened, it's easier from there. I have so many ambitions and things I want to add to my list of doors knocked down. Out of everything learned this past year from school, I am most thankful to have learned that possibilities are endless and it really is a world where you can do anything you want, as long as you put the time in for it. Simple as that. So, in effort to keep me accountable on some goals, I am enlisting the ol'blog world's help. Here, in no particular ...
