Memorial Day Weekending

Isn't that a pretty picture to start a post with? May it bring comfort, a scent of salt air, and serve as a reminder to celebrate all those who have given their lives so we can take in such wonderful sights. Happy Memorial Day to all who have served and who continue to serve to allow our freedom <3

My better half took that picture of the gorgeous ocean when we escaped to New Smyrna Beach for a few hours on Sunday. When you have a long weekend in Florida, how can you NOT venture ocean side for fresh seafood and selfies?

---side note: I eat fried foods very, very seldom but when I do, I do it right. Breakers in NSB has got the most amazing, crunchy french fries. I could not order them fast enough. Mmm, mmm!

We also tried out a new sports bar in our area and I gotta say, their lob-sta cobb salad was quite scrumptious. Filling, fresh, and oh yea, served with avacado ranch dressing! (insert cat with heart eyes emoji here)

Speaking of cats, these two surely enjoyed themselves a bit much this weekend. I keep telling them they just don't bounce back like when they were 21 3. Get yourselves together, ladies!

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T. While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”. Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration: Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better. Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See w

Reset on a Weekend

One of my favorite things in the world is laying in bed on a weekend night watching Netflix movies while my Hunter and my Ro nap next to me and I scroll Instagram home design and wellness accounts as well. This is particularly enjoyable after an extra long week, I might add. I feel calm and giddy alike throughout this downtime. I am able to relax and unwind, often taking mindfulness breaks and enjoying a komboocha or lemon water simultaneously. It couldn’t be any more basic. This recharge makes me naturally happy creating reflection and gratefulness for everything in my life. I’m a hard worker with determination and I like to reach goals and make new ones so I feel like I’m on more than I’m not. I need to reset like this because it reiterates what it’s about most at the end of the day; health, happiness, and an attitude of gratitude. What is your approach to bring it all back to center? mk
