A Merry and Happy Spring

Who What Wear posted this photo with this message on Insta the other day: "It's a beautiful day in Paris, @margoandme is on a mission to find the freshest inspiration for our next collection with Target Style!"  I love everything about it, both the style happening in the photo and the message listed; look around and get inspired.  It serves as a reminder for opportunity from believing in our surroundings.  With spring so fresh upon us, I'm eager to find inspo myself from taking extra looks around. Thus far, flowers and brights and fresh perspective are my key elements of encouragement.  I'm sure more will be added to this dainty pile and for that, my true excitement builds! A merry and happy Spring to you and yours. Let's meet again, M

The secret to having it all, is loving it all...

Happy Turkey Thanksgiving Day! May your day be filled with the Macy's parade bright and early; plentiful amounts of turkey-or preferred tradition of food midday; and a replay of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Wait for me, Clark and Eddie, I'm on my way! Now without further babbling, here is a list of what I am most thankful for at this time: 1. Hunter Bear-my wonderful and loving person for life. Oh how thankful I am to have this creature in my world. Laughs and love to the moon and back. 2. I have a really great mom and family support system. Between mine and Hunter's people, we are truly loved unconditionally. What more is needed? 3. Obvi the dogters make me thankful. Those furballs bring joy, laughs, and the best hugs ever to the table. especially when said table has human food intended for sharing. 4. My chosen family: my friends. I have met people who are kind, smart, focused, funny, motivated, dedicated, loving, and out of this world. ...

Absolutely Random and Positively Wonderful

I wish I had something really riveting to post today. Truth is, I don't. I thought perhaps I should hold off and not post unless I had something of more substance. Where is the fun in that though? This way I can look back one day and hopefully find a good reason I went ahead and posted this. Maybe. Currently, I'm taking a breather in the form of feet propped on my coffee table, casual reading material at my side, dogters very near by, as in sleeping like rocks on either side of me, basically invading what personal space and time I allowed myself tonight. Beetches. Anyhow, I finished homework early that is due tonight and have a big day of filming tomorrow so might as well as zone out to some YouTube music vids and couch dance while blogging and organizing my online files, right? I am presently jamming to old school jams such as Big Tymers "Still Fly"; various Nelly-"Dilemma", "Hot in Herr", you know the good stuff; and Eve 6 among others....

A Writer Speaks

What makes a good writer? I ponder this daily. Not only for myself, but when thinking of the content I spend my time reading over as well. In short, a good writer is someone who expresses themselves in a way that is easy to follow, no ridiculous, over the top antics that make a reader say huh? Too much. A good writer is someone who does not write to demean, ridicule, lecture, but rather they share, provoke, excite, and therefore resonate with their audience. Writing is hard sometimes. It is not an easy task to put together words in a systematic, yet approachable way. You want your audience to read along with you and hear the words just as much as they read them. This can easily be flubbed or turned upside down. One of my favorite quotes is etched into a beautiful pen box my aunt and uncle gave to me when I graduated with my bachelors and says, "A writer must write what he has to say, not speak it"-Ernest Hemingway. This quote? One that I have said time and time a...

Just another manic Monday with a side of recap

Monday, Monday, Monday. We meet again, you devilish being you. I welcome your usual challenge of wanting to hit snooze and struggling not to keep uttering, "Well, it is Monday..." when all your, I mean, the little annoyances that could happen any day occur. I will start off in an upbeat, positive, happy go lucky manner. May the odds be in favor of this great idea o'mine. So, to catch up, well the last week has been slightly off course of usual routines, mostly due to the holiday and partly due toooooooo......SUMMER BREAK! No research, no deadlines, and even a light book reading for pleasure commenced. My oh my, it feels good to be back among the living! My summer break is now o-v-a, ova though. After one week off, I am slightly refreshed-I still worked my day job so not like summer breaks past of tanning, serving at night, and boozing. I am ready to dive into my 6th month of grad school and am eager to get back to the fun, and stress alike, that is school. I d...

2013 y'all

2013 is looking like a good year so far. I've maintained my resolutions the ENTIRE year. What? It's only a day in? So? Go with me on this one: -Clothes have been selected, accessorized no doubt, the eve before they are to be worn. I did this all the time growing up, one of those things my mom taught me. It can make all the difference for a busy morning trying to walk dogters, get in some cardio, prepare a healthy/light/resourceful-use-of-groceries-breakfast-for-two (no stopping even for coffee this year. I'm doing realllyyy good!) I even put my main go-to bags in a roll call order. Gang's all here!! -Our fridge is neatly assorted into strategically placed fresher foods to eat first; ready to grab bags of sorted fruit, snacks for work or workouts; coffee cream choices readily accessible right up front aimed to motivate freshly brewed cups of joe. I am really putting my previous failures of resolution to shame this year! -I've made balanced, ...
