May Day

Taylor's Instagram photo challenge kicked off today and the first prompt is #MayDay. This begs the question: what is May Day to you? For me... May Day is vibrant and charming flowers basking in the sunshine... It's a walk through the park in semi-matching, brightly colored get ups with my true sunshine... It's a stop for a sugar cookie cupcake from Sweet by Holly , which if I'm being honest, is now in MY TOP 3 of best options from Miss Holly... via Just some of my own interpretations I suppose. But anything centered on sweet, flowery waltzes through the park is okay any day of the week. It's just extra special on May Day. Until we meet again, M

Sweet Teeth Desserts!

Happy, happy Thursday my friends! May the week get on with it, and may you find yourself to Friday happy hour soon... Allow me to introduce a little adventure two of my very good lovies and I have launched recently: Tada! We started a dessert baking business! And it is so much fun already! So here's the back story: Lizette, Danielle, and I have enjoyed each others company and baked goods for many years now. We work together at our day jobs and after much discussion and excitement, we decided that 2015 was the year of sweet goodies with our label on them! Our baby is very new to this world and already oh so loved. We are passionate and pumped up to watch it grow. I also am incredibly grateful for this venture, and most importantly, for the two girls I get the privilege to call partners. Life is just too sweet sometimes. I will share more updates and cool stories that stem from this opportunity along the way, so in the meantime, head on over to our fresh new inte...

You are a beautiful cupcake in a world full of muffins

I think it's good to remind ourselves every once in a while that weird is good. Scratch that it's great. It's easy to fall under spells of what's considered "normal" and let others trick us into thinking what sets us different makes us off, losers, whackos, fill in the _____. Normal smormal bore-mal. What is this mythical normal you speak of and what on earth does it have to do with me? It makes me sickly-sad to keep hearing that bullying is still a thing. Stop trying to make bullying happen! It isn't going to happen win! (Always good to throw a Mean Girls reference in when harping on the disgusting act of bullying). In honor of letting our "freak flags" fly, I'd like to point out some things that are key to my weirdness aka my loveliness just the same: 1. The term RAT is our house is a term of endearment. Bubsy rat(Hunty or me), fat rat(Peppy)(PS This is not a negative spin with the use of the word fat. Peppy is my squish and ...

Tact is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip." ~Winston Churchill

I'd like to dedicate the title of this post to you, Monday. Although, I happen to be off work today and have already caught laundry up, exercised for an hour and a half, had lunch with a friend, and now I am posting here. I'll take a win for $500, Alex. The weekend was fabulous. Among workouts and being outside with the dogters a whole bunch, we also started the Netflix series House of Cards and let me just say, wowwwww. We love it and ran through the first seven episodes of season 1 in one sitting. Kevin Spacey was phenomenal before this and now he is quite possibly my favorite actor ever. Cannot wait to resume it tonight. We also visited with our Roberts family. Connor, aka Nonner, is more adorable every time I see him. He now gives his own high fives without prompting and also "bumps it" on your fist with his. To.die.for.people. And man does he love uncle Unner: My Tori, I adore this darling girl: Hmm, what else, what else. Ah yes, hair! Got ...
