Blogtober Day 20 My Biggest Fear...

We are now 2/3 done with Blogtober's challenge of writing for 31 days. I know, hard to believe, isn't it? I'm enjoying my routine of reading the topic, writing my thoughts, and seeing what so many others are saying too. In short, this is funnnnnnn!

Now for today's big question...My biggest fear would be:

Torture. Well, kidnapping and torture. This scares the world out of me. I watch too many TV shows that exhibit the kinds of stuff bad/crazy/strange people think is okay to do to others and it freaks.me.out. Yet, I watch. I swear, I close my eyes through all of the gore or badness. I've got an imagination, people. A good one. I don't need to really see it. I guess I watch because I love the story lines that override the ick and the people who make up the teams who capture the bad guys. So, yea, I'll keep this one short. No need to ignite nightmares by elaborating, amiright?

But here is a super cool, lightened up way to talk serial killers:

Two of my girlfriends and I decorated our office over the weekend for Halloween and made our very own Dexter "kill room" table. We've had so much fun decoring up the place and I can't wait even more for the actual day!

I'm also afraid of missing my goals in life and not having an impact. Here's the thing, I know some of what I want to do and actively work on getting there, there's just so many avenues I want more of. It feels overwhelming sometimes so it's easy to step back and say tomorrow. I don't ever want to say I should have, I could have. I've done pretty well in my life this far, acknowledging any path I've taken to get where I am and see it as the way I was meant to. It's something I hope to maintain.

What is your biggest fear?

Until we meet again,
M

  1. Ugh this is totally me. My husband and I watch a number of ...creepy... television shows and LOVED Dexter (until the last season). I could NOT watch season ...2 or 3 with out him, though. The season with the guy from 3rd Rock From The Sun. It totally creeped me out and struck me as something that COULD actually happen!

  2. Eek! The Trinity Killer LOL John Lithgow actually won an Emmy for guest role on a series from that one. Genius actor, creepy character :)

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T.

While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”.

Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration:

Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better.

Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See what I did t…

Blogtober Day 26, Who would play you in a movie...

Ohhh good one, Blogtober.

Someone once told me I reminded them of Drew Barrymore. They didn't say if it was for look or personality, so I'm not sure where they drew the conclusion from. See what I did there?

I threw this out to one of my very best and oldest friends Andrea. Talking it out, we agreed that Drew and I do share some similar qualities, both in personality and in dressing and accessorizing. Andrea reasoned that Drew is quirky and a little less traditional, much like me. I reasoned we have the same headbands:

I also recalled that when I was a little girl, everyone thought I looked like a young Drew Barrymore. Both my parents have said people would come up to them all the time and remark on my resemblance to her in that movie Firestarter:

Whatever it is, I would absolutely be pleased if Drew played me in a movie.

Now, if Penelope Garcia was a real person and not a character on a TV show (Criminal Minds), she would undoubtedly play me in a movie:

Irrational Rationing...

The past year of my life has been spent blogging; two of my four classes necessary for graduation required them and at my internship I blogged. Why not give the world my opinion on any subject I choose? It's free and it's mine to share, right? Absolutely!

So, to start, what do I want my tone to be? Tone is a very important factor, you know. It can make or break a piece. People want to identify a tone or purpose, which they often misconstrue as meaning the same thing. Oh, people-my favorite breed:)

So let's see. There's:
Informative? Will I provide people with knowledge about various subjects and try to teach? Eh.

How about super upbeat and positive? Like, I'll provide people with a reason to live to log on to read the next uplifting piece of blog. Eh.

How about super dreary? Dreary works. Most people would rather be perfectly miserable than divinely happy. Eh. Decisions.

Hmm, maybe all my posts will be so contemplative. Hey! That's not a bad racket. Contemplative in…
