J'adore: Acceptance & Love

It's the start of another amazing Instagram photo and blogging challenge for the lovely month of June my friends.  I'm very excited that Jordyn and Kristin decided to pair up and launch this one.  I love every day's topics and can't wait to see how everyone participating accentuates their style and take on the girly girl topics.

Now for day one, coincidentally June 1, the topic is J'adore.  My first J'adore inspiration comes in the form of complimenting one individual lady's way of introducing herself to the world.  Meet Caitlyn Jenner.

Fab, fearless, fun, oh and did I say fab?  This is the ultimate way for any lady to intro herself to a room of waiting onlookers and girl oh girl am I smitten!  Gorgeous and dignified is the only way any person should be represented and I more than see that here.

I imagine it should come as no surprise that I stand by this transition and believe in acceptance for how any person chooses to live.  If no harm is done to one's self or others, then it isn't my place to cast stones any which way.

Clearly many people have many opinions for lots of things.  The only stance I have is to remember kindness and compassion. For everyone we meet is fighting some kind of battle.  Be thankful for those strong enough to bring theirs to the surface, offering way for the next brave one.

And Caitlyn, go head girl.  Do your thing and have a helluva good time with it.  After all, a gal's life is a fab thing to live!

Until we meet again,
M

Self care reset

We all hear the buzzwords self care more than ever these days. Every where you turn, a lifestyle blogger, health guru, or magazine article shares insight on ways to treat yo self to some basic T.

While I love modern discussions as much as the next girl, I’m aware sometimes it just doesn’t fit and you have to reset what isn’t working. For example, some weeks I am just done by the tine Friday hits. Hell, a rough Wednesday or Thursday has crept in there, too, requiring a pause and reflection for how best to naturally beat a funk or a “feeling of less than stellar”.

Here my top self care reset ideas for your consideration:

Drink water: Warm it with some lemon, try some green tea for an antioxidant boost, or just plain old room temperature is a sure way to get the boost to feeling a bit better.

Face it: Fewer things feel as good as a really great face mask. I love charcoal in particular lately and always feel refreshed and restored and ready to ‘face’ another day. See what I did t…

Blogtober Day 26, Who would play you in a movie...

Ohhh good one, Blogtober.

Someone once told me I reminded them of Drew Barrymore. They didn't say if it was for look or personality, so I'm not sure where they drew the conclusion from. See what I did there?

I threw this out to one of my very best and oldest friends Andrea. Talking it out, we agreed that Drew and I do share some similar qualities, both in personality and in dressing and accessorizing. Andrea reasoned that Drew is quirky and a little less traditional, much like me. I reasoned we have the same headbands:

I also recalled that when I was a little girl, everyone thought I looked like a young Drew Barrymore. Both my parents have said people would come up to them all the time and remark on my resemblance to her in that movie Firestarter:

Whatever it is, I would absolutely be pleased if Drew played me in a movie.

Now, if Penelope Garcia was a real person and not a character on a TV show (Criminal Minds), she would undoubtedly play me in a movie:

Irrational Rationing...

The past year of my life has been spent blogging; two of my four classes necessary for graduation required them and at my internship I blogged. Why not give the world my opinion on any subject I choose? It's free and it's mine to share, right? Absolutely!

So, to start, what do I want my tone to be? Tone is a very important factor, you know. It can make or break a piece. People want to identify a tone or purpose, which they often misconstrue as meaning the same thing. Oh, people-my favorite breed:)

So let's see. There's:
Informative? Will I provide people with knowledge about various subjects and try to teach? Eh.

How about super upbeat and positive? Like, I'll provide people with a reason to live to log on to read the next uplifting piece of blog. Eh.

How about super dreary? Dreary works. Most people would rather be perfectly miserable than divinely happy. Eh. Decisions.

Hmm, maybe all my posts will be so contemplative. Hey! That's not a bad racket. Contemplative in…
